Both of my children had a great experience at JHWMS. They use a group approach so your child will have the same 4 core teachers as everyone else in the group, it makes the school seem a little smaller. Music programs are excellent. There is a choice of 3 languages and this class is taken every day. My high schooler is now in all honors classes and got a good foundation here.

My daughter is entering 8th grade Sept. 2011. She is in the Fine Arts Class and this year will also be in Concert Choir. She loves to sing. Mr. Cundari is a Wonderful Music Teacher along with Ms. Monte also! All her classes give her a challenge which is great! She is always on honor roll with A and B's. I believe the teachers in Nutley take their job serious. The town really cares about the kids and the vice principal, Mr. Callichio and his staff are very helpful and concerned for the students.

My daughter is a 7th grader and she likes this school. She has made a decent amount of new friends. Of course you will stumble upon those people who are not the kindest of all people but you will have to deal with it through your whole life...Also changing in the locker rooms can make a boy/girl insecure or awkward but after a few days everyone is comfortable. The classes have a good amount of challenges. My daughter is in all vector and she is challenged a decent amount. She received honors this marking period, so so far she is doing great. The school also has a big gym a nice library and it is pretty sanitary. The only thing is that the lockers are very small and there is only one top shelf and the bottom of the locker...i think there should be a more spacious middle shelf so the children are not always kneeling on the floor to pick their books and essentials...the principal is an okay man and the vice principal is on the edge with me...the kids seem to be disciplined with every little thing they do.... overall this school is a great school for education.

This school prepares very well for even the most challenging high school programs. Teachers (especially math) and guidance counselors are wonderful.
