My daughter was severely bullied and administration did nothing to help. Luckily, I was able to pull her out and get her into a better school before something bad happened.

We love the holistic approach to learning that the IB program brings to this school. The curriculum is challenging, and adjustments have been made depending on each of children’s individual needs. All three of our children have had great experiences and still go back to visit past teachers. The teachers, administrators, and support staff are excellent.

One of the worst experiences I have had at a school. Thankful we had the resources to send our child to a private school.

There were several amazing teachers when I went here. I am in high school now, however my sixth grade teacher (who unfortunately no longer teaches there) went above and beyond as an educator and a person.

Glad to be moving away. Our daughter was being bullied so they moved he to a dumber group and the bully got to stay. My son finished preschool not being able to spell his name or count past 4. Great job.

The teachers that my son has had at Roxborough Intermediate are 2nd to none. They have helped my son go from apathetic about school to loving school, becoming a voracious reader, reading above grade level, becoming interested in varied topics and truly caring about his own education. I cannot say enough great things about the teachers at Roxborough Intermediate. I consider this school a rare example of how public schools should be.

My kids and I absolutely love Roxborough Intermediate. They have had fantastic teachers who are caring and loving and are really invested in their students. The administration and staff know me and my children by name and the principals are outside greeting students before and after school every day. They have worked hard at raising test scores and becoming an IB school. They have adjusted curriculum in different areas after evaluating what is working and what isn't. They have programs in place for both delayed and accelerated students. The PTIC is award-winning and has raised record-breaking amounts that go directly back to the classrooms. In a district where recent bond issues have not been passed, Roxborough's PTIC goes above and beyond what is expected. They also organize fantastic community events, school assemblies and after-school clubs and activities. I can not say enough good things about Roxborough schools!

If you ask the Middle School Teachers about how Roxborough kids perform they would answer 'superior.' Our daughter who was on Independent Learning Programs (school tutoring) throughout Rox Elementary was just awarded the #1 student in her pod (out of 120 students) Everyday Math is difficult for most parents to understand because it is not rote memorization as we were taught. Instead, to keep up with 21st century learning and competing globally in the future, it teaches algebraic thinking which allows students to understand multiple problem-solving approaches. A propulsion engineer from Lockheed Martin who volunteers weekly at RXI says 'Everyday Math is very important for kids who want to be engineers or scientists because it promotes critical thinking'. Yes, the class sizes average 26 or 28 depending on the grade and that is why we are thankful for SmartBoards, speaker technology and ability grouping in every room to help manage it. Roxborough is one of the few elementary schools with a full-time Science teacher and band/orchestra in 4th, 5th and 6th. As well as Robotics, Chess League, Talent Show, DI, yoga, Science Fair and more. We LOVE our school!

I am grateful that my children attend this school! The teachers are amazing, it has a strong leadership team, and the parent involvement is outstanding. My children are being challenged in their studies due to ability grouping. The gifted and talented program is wonderful. Not every school is going to be a perfect fit for every family, but for our family this school is a perfect fit! My kids love their specials rotation - which includes music, art, p.e., technology and science. The after school enrichment activities are plentiful.

This school has alot to be desired. Overcrowded classrooms, LOTS of bullying, a recent departure of good teachers...seeing that the conditions at this school are only getting worse. The school promotes curriculums that ultimately hinder the students when they move onto other schools (Everyday Math for instance). And...the school doesn't teach or require learning cursive - which is mandatory at other schools, which puts the kids behind even more when they move onto other schools. The community likes to put on a facade that this school and the area are superior - when in reality this school lacks a clear direction or hope for the future students.
