This school year, the struggle has been intense. Poor management has led to so many problems for us- from availability of textbooks, tuition payment systems, lack of communication, problems with class schedules and availability and overall responsiveness to concerns. I already have concerns about the level at which my child is learning, and lack of classroom structure. I do not want to switch my child’s school but am left wondering what exactly our tuition pays for?

We have had four different students attend FCDS. Yes, it hurt financially but I could not think of a better way to spend our hard earned money. This place is amazing. A well run machine where you take your child and they are TRANSFORMED!! Well worth anything that is asked of you. Your child benefits in every aspect of education- science, literature, arts, character, sports, health, etc, etcWe tried public school- Jefferson, Meadowlark, Reagan, etc and every time, the decision was the same.... have to go back to Forsyth Country Day. It can't be beat.

Our child has been so happy since coming to FCDS. The staff is amazing, caring, and keeps you informed about your child's progress. The JAC staff, which tutors children with LD, are highly trained in teaching students with dyslexia, and other learning differences. These tutors/teachers are NOT LEARNING ON THE JOB, they have many years of experience working with children with LD, which is why they are so successful in educating LD students. The best part is the students are in school with all of their peers. There is not a sperate school for LD vs Non-LD. Everyone is expected to work at the same level, and if the student needs extra help in a subject, the staff is there to assist them. By operating as one school, as oppose to two sperate schools under one roof, (one for LD and one for Non-LD,) your child receives a much higher quality of education. The material is the same across the board, there is not a non-academically challenging side, verses a very academically challenging side. This model is more in line with the real world, as it prepares your child for the expectations of a challenging high school and/or college. Our child has been in both types of schools, given that they have a higher IQ, and loves a challenge, FCDS was a much better fit. If a job transfer occurs, we will not have to worry about making a lateral move to another academically challenging school. There is not a more solid, academically challenging, and caring school than FCDS. I highly recommend this school for everyone.

We had two kids at this school and the school was certainly not up to private school standards .Poorly staffed and managed ...Bulking is huge problem with kids from wealthy families ...actually the bulking was out of control .

My husband and I have felt the money we have invested to have our children attend this school has had great returns! This is evident as 3 of 4 have graduated and excelled at the next level. We have one more to go! I encourage you to look closely at what FCDS has to offer.

The local public school is much better. Higher level courses and more college credit in the Career Center.

As a parent of a former exchange student I am disappointed about how unprofessional the upper- class director and the headmaster cope with students and parents when problems arise. No understanding, no empathy at all. I regret to have sent my kid there.

The new headmaster cares more about buildings than stopping bullying that is prevalent throughout the school. My daughter has been called names on a daily basis and has come home crying multiple times.

My experience at FCDS has been tumultuous. In the six years my family has been with this school, they have had four headmasters (one as an interim twice, so five shifts in leadership). They are now moving on to the sixth for next year. I love the current curriculum and the direction of the school, but I wish the Board would decide what it wants, so I could make a stable decision for my children.
