Do not recommend this school. They have older kids in class with younger ones on a regular basis. Terrible management and most of all not trustworthy. This is not a Catholic school because it does not follow Catholic truths and values. Beware, they are not trustworthy. Just a common private school lookig at profits.

At the elementary level, this school is pretty weak and the curriculum is often not finished in many subjects. The curriculum at History and Science is a real mockery. At the elementary level, this school is very comparable with most of the decent public schools in the town. Therefore, it's not really worth the money.Things are changing at the middle school level when the quality of education improves. and, in my opinion, is above the average. However, many teachers are negligent, marking work with significant delays, and having absurd approaches, such as disconsidering correct test answers unless they are written in a certain way. Also, the school does not provide any advanced courses except Math (7th and 8 grade), and no advanced English or Spanish, as offered by many good public schools. The community is pathetic, most of it is made up of stacked-up people without any touch with reality, heavily gossiping, and poorly engaged. The quality of the curriculum is often lowered and the load is decreased so as not to upset this self-centric and deplorable community. The priest is considered the head of the school, even above the director, but he never engaged students, never took the pulse of the community never taught even one single hour of religion, he is extremely laid-back and never offered any support to improve things in the school. This is one more reason why this school is falling behind in terms of quality of education. For these reasons, if you find a good public school, your child will get an equally good education, without the stress of the cost!

St. Leo's has been fantastic for both of my children, especially my 1st grader. I have witness enormous progress with my child over the past year academically, socially, and spiritually. He tells me how he loves math, recess (of course) and all of his teachers. His reading is impressive. He's inquisitive about our faith, asks fantastic questions and tells me that he learns about Christ at school. What makes me happiest of all is that he tells me how he loves school and loves going to school. This sounds a bit on the nose, but we will be getting into the car to go to school and he will say things like, "I'm so glad I have school today." or "I love St. Leo's." WOW. I'm thankful to the teachers, Mr Callus, and all of the other staff helping to create this experience for my kids.

We moved from public school to St. Leo, and we are thrilled that we did. Security and quality education are the two biggest concerns for us. I give St. Leo top marks for both. Also, we are not a Catholic family. But the administration and teachers have welcomed and given us the utmost respect. One of the things I have found most encouraging is the quality of the learning materials. St. Leo provides an environment for our daughter to be safe, learn, and develop her independence in an atmosphere that teaches her to respect herself and others. It is a winner.

This school was great when Fr. Cook was there, but has gone downhill with Gober as a leader. He wants to take them back to the 50's (like he does with mass). The students need a more forward thinking and progressive priest to keep them interested and excited about their faith. Pre-vatican 2 nonsense is not the way to capture their souls. The Catholic part of a Catholic school should not be the weakest link.Mr. Callus, however, does a good job on the academic side.

As a parent one of the best things I wanted for my children was a good education, and as a Catholic household that was an important part of the education choice. When we made the choice to enroll at St. Leo’s we immediately knew we made the right decision. Our children made friends and are very happy to go to school. The family’s we met made us feel right at home and welcomed us with open arms. The atmosphere at the school is very open and welcoming, with a close nit family feel. The teachers are wonderful and easy to talk to and very receptive, along with the administration being very hands on with an open door policy for any time you want to talk.

We have had all three of our children attend St. Leo’s. It has been an invaluable experience for our entire family. The academics, faith and community development all excel. The academic rigor especially in middle school has far surpassed our expectations. The elementary basis provides the necessary skills to build on in later grades including high school.

We have had children at St.Leo’s for almost 15 years. St. Leo’s has nurtured our children, helping them become caring and responsible people, while providing them with an excellent education. They provide the children with a strong educational foundation and strong study skills. St. Leo’s grads are known to excel in high school (in both public and private schools). I highly recommend St.Leo School.

One of the best decisions I have made as a parent has been sending my child to SLCS. The teachers and staff have been phenomenal in keeping our children safe and our school OPEN for in the classroom learning during this crazy time of COVID. My child loves going to school and looks forward to each day. Our principal is no nonsense when it comes to bullying but will take a pie in the face week after week all in the name for charity! SLCS is more than just a school to send your children, it’s family.

St. Leo has been an amazing experience for my child in elementary school so far. Her teachers since Kindergarten have been so caring and supportive of students' growth and learning. My child has loved her teachers every year. When she was struggling with her focus at school, the teacher worked collaboratively with us to help her succeed. Now she is a fluent reader, loves math, and enjoys school in general. We are not from the "richy" neighborhoods, as one previous reviewer stated, but in my experience, the families in my child's class have been welcoming and kind. Also the principal, Mr. Callus, is absolutely wonderful!

This is an excellent little jewel of a school located in a lovely neighborhood and with the kind of values I want my granddaughter to experience. I could not recommend it more highly.

My daughter had a terrible time at this school. Thankfully, she was only there for her last year of middle school. My daughter felt like she wasn't important, which is something that a parent would never want to hear their child say. She got bullied because of her race and because her family wasn't "rich enough." The students and staff are very unwelcoming. I wonder why so many staff members have left in the past few years. The students are overworked and are berated if they don't understand a certain topic. SLS did not prepare my daughter for the future at all.

My children have learned to be effective thinkers, compassionate humans and definitely prepared for the future.

Two years ago I attended this school for middle school and it was a horrible experience. I was bullied and put down by the other students because I wasn't pretty, as smart as them, and I had different interests. Of course, I spoke up but no one did anything about this. The teachers here expect you to know everything and give you insane amounts of homework. I was up until 2 am doing homework most nights and I had to quit my after school activities. I lost my friends outside of school because I was always "stuck inside doing homework." My parents thankfully took me out of here after one year. I am normally a straight A student, but here I made C's and D's. People say that St. Leo's prepares you for high school, but I am scared to make friends and try new things because I took back on this experience.

We were excited to send our first child here after she finally aged into the Pre-K program. Our daughter was advanced for her age and we found the program more like a day-care center. Not saying that in a bad way. Just found the learning to be sub-par. We toured other private schools in the area and quickly learned that the learning curve was much higher in other schools. On another note - we didn't find the atmosphere to be too welcoming and not much social interaction among the families. The facility itself is very small and limiting. There is no diversity at the school what-so-ever -- which is a big red flag for me having grown up with racism first-hand. Needless to say, our time at SLS was short lived and our 2nd child will not have to experience SLS at all.

Fantastic all around school. Teachers have been great and very accommodating.

We sent our daughter to this school a few years ago. The teachers were not accommodating and always looked at us like we didn't belong, as if they had never seen Asians before. The other parents were also not friendly. Even though we are professionals, we didn't feel like we fit in because we didn't live in the "richy" neighborhood where the school is located. We did not want our child to grow up in that environment where she would feel less than everyone else. For the amount of money they charged, the facility is extremely small compared to other private schools.
