I agree with the previous review… my daughter was assaulted at a fall festival on school campus and the assistant principal told me there were no witnesses and when I got to my daughter she was bawling and a ton of kids came running to me to tell me what happened. The same child has continued to harass my daughter and I’ve had to go to the superintendent to get the principal to pay attention. It seems they don’t want to deal with it at all. They aren’t supportive. They are failing at protecting my child and also failing the other student by allowing the behavior. It’s truly a shame.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Poor leadership and unprofessional administration. There is NO communication. Absolutely none! They do not want parents to know anything. Bullying is rampant and Principal will make the victim feel like she/he is the problem if you complain. Nothing will be done about bullying and parents will be told that there’s no way to prove their child was bullied hence the child must be the problem. There are HUGE safety concerns, your child will be physically assaulted and the school won’t provide any medical care neither they will notify you about the incident. Once confronted they will tell you they didn't see anything and don't know what happened. My child was physically assaulted several times and the Principal didn’t take any actions. They absolutely don’t care about your child’s physical and mental wellbeing. This school is overcrowded, poorly managed and unsafe.

Love the teachers. My daughters teacher is always messaging and giving updates in class. My kids are thriving there. All these bad reviews are a bit shocking. Doing well in school starts at home. I question parents who have their kids failing at a middle class public school in elementary. Can’t expect the teacher to do everything.

This is the worst school my kids have ever been too. My child needed academic support and they refused to give it to her. My kids were getting c, and D’s and I have a gifted child and she got all c’s. The admin do not respect each child. Switched my kids schools, oh look now, my childs getting academic support, my other child is getting a’s. My daughter came home crying everytime she got a science test back because her teacher wasn’t teaching science correctly. My daughter said all they did was make them journal it, and the open note. She said they don’t even give good explanation. The only thing my daughter loved about connerton was her 4th grade teacher. Academic is so bad in this school! Leadership is super horrible too. And my other daughter comes home crying because her p.e teacher was yelling at her for something she didn’t even do. My daughter was scared to go to school aswell. And kids were bullying my daughter, for weeks and they didn’t notice until my daughter opened up to me and I filed a complaint! This school is so ridiculous!

My daughter started at Connerton last year in 3rd grade from Hillsborough County. The difference was amazing! Connerton has been wonderful. The teachers actually communicate with parents and you can tell they care about their students. My daughter has excelled and loves this school. They don't give a ridiculous amount of homework like other schools which helps children be less stressed at home in my opinion. I love that it's not off a busy road and in the back of a great neighborhood. I would definitely recommend Connerton.

Lacks competence in most areas. High turnover rate amongst staff. Poor leadership. Looking forward to when my kids are out!

The leadership from admin is non-existent. My child does not the Principal or AP. That is concerning. If the children do not like the admin, I can only imagine how the teachers feel about them. I am glad to be leaving this school.

Professional, caring, welcoming, informing. IEP meetings are educational and cooperative. I have ALWAYS enjoyed my interaction with staff. When an issue arises, I am able to resolve it in a diplomatic manner.

The staff is very committed to students.

I agree with the previous post on most everything. The Principal does not adhere to nor address the bullying issues & does not follow through with your concerns even after meeting with him for conferences. There is way too much bullying in this school! I agree that the office staff is nice. I also agree with the posts on here that the cafeteria is insane! I can't believe how loud it is & don't understand why there are no policies in place to keep the noise down. It's like going to a heavy metal concert and I'm not exaggerating. Go & hear for yourselves! I swear that by the time your kids finish 5th Grade, they will need a hearing aid! The school has way too many students for an elementary school with 1000+ & counting. And guess what, another new resort-like community is currently being built & is zoned for Connerton. I'm taking my son & daughter out of this school after this year because it's one of the worst schools for academics in the area. I have observed other public, charter & private schools while looking for another school and Connerton is way behind. They do not teach the standards from 1st hand observation and that is why they test so low. This is a well-off area with expensive homes but it is rated a 5/10? There is so much wrong with this school and that is why so many parents are pulling their kids out and looking for alternatives. For all those parents that are happy with K-2nd, you are in for a huge awakening! Yes, my son is doing fine in 2nd Grade but he is not doing anything near the standards at the other schools. Please observe other schools and their curriculum! Like my daughter in 3rd Grade, you will realize how little your kids have been taught. There is a huge teaching gap between these 2 grades & there shouldn't be! This is my first year here and the Connerton Community falsely promotes this school!

Positive: My Kindergartener loved his teacher and the school. The front desk staff is friendly and BEYOND helpful. Negative: My 2nd grader however was bullied horribly! I spoke with the teacher about it but it continued. Then I spoke to the Principal and again nothing was done. I eventually pulled them to Homeschool because my 2nd Grader was deteriorating. I couldn’t wait for something to be done anymore. The thing that solidified my decision was when I visited for lunch and the cafeteria was in absolute chaos, then a lunchroom staff member got on the mic and started screaming at them. While I detest writing anything negative about people who give their lives to kids; I feel like this needs to be said. Maybe something will be done so another child doesn’t lose out on a typical school experience. My kids now have to sacrifice because trusted adults wouldn’t help them. I’m sad and angry that there was NO resolution for them or their bullies.

This is our son's 2nd year, he is in 1st grade. His teacher this year is amazing! He absolutely loves going to school each day! While I would agree the school is getting overcrowded, hoping for a zoning alignment next year. This is the new principal's second year at Connerton, I can see all the positive changes in the curriculum! I hope the test scores increase this year to put parents at ease that are looking to move into the community!

I moved down from NY and bought a house in Connerton. Yesterday was the first day of school and I'm pulling my daughter out this week to attend a private school. This is a sub-standard school in every aspect. My daughter didn't even get the same first grade teacher that she was supposed to get after the meet and greet. I tried to get my daughter in with the teacher that she was supposed to get but they wouldn't change her class. The admin is a mess. Did I mention that the school is beyond overcrowded? I read all the comments below. The "Haters" are the intelligent ones and know the facts. Look carefully at Connerton's test scores & school ranking. This school is ranked close to the bottom of all the schools in Tampa Bay. My best advice is to not move to Connerton unless you plan on sending your child to a private school.

Connerton was an amazing elementary school to go to! The students and teachers were amazing!!!

Our experience was poor. The blue hair P.E teacher not only yelled at students but parents as well. She was also observed, several times by my child dangerously riding on the outside of a pick up truck in the car line. She sets a terrible example for these impressionable children. This school seems so disorganized. I have worked and volunteered at other schools and always felt welcome and a sense of community. Not at this school. The classroom sizes are large and became larger throughout the school year. One year of this disastrous school was enough for us. Its very disappointing since we live in Connerton and thought we would enjoy having a school so close to home. By the way my child's state test scores suffered this year compared to last year at FLVS.

Connerton is fantastic. The teachers are kind and are preparing students for strong futures. Very happy with the gifted program coming next year!

This school is extremely overcrowded and has below average testing scores for both the Pasco County School District and for Florida. The teachers are nice but the Principal is horrible. He is all talk and NO performance. ALL of the surrounding elementary schools are rated higher than Connerton and for good reason. The ever-changing atmosphere is confusing with a new Principal year after year.

We moved to Connerton just to put our kids in this school. The community is a great place to live and the school is wonderful from ALL aspects. The staff is always willing to go above and beyond to help even if it's not their actual job. The teachers genuinely care about the children and strive to give them the best educational experience. Teachers spend their own time and money not during school hours to give these children all they need to succeed and as parents it's important to be aware of that. The principal and administrative staff are great advocates to make Connerton the best school. The new principal has already implemented improvements such as rewards for good behavior as snow cones every Friday for the best class in each grade, the cookie dough fundraiser to help improve technology in the school, he brought back the COES news, is in the works of implementing a gifted program as well as the assistant principal takes the time to read with kids who need one on one time when that's not necessarily her required duties as assistant principal. The PTA is a group of parents who volunteer their time in order to support Connerton. The PTA 100% supports the staff and administrators. The school , staff and PTA help make Connerton the GREAT school or truly is. As parents we have to remember it's our responsibility to be a positive role model and advocate for our children. So instead of complaining about the school spend more time volunteering and advocating in a positive way to implement great changes for this school. As the saying goes it takes a village to raise children. I love Connerton Elementary School!

I have two children at COES, and we love our school! Every issue and concern I bring to the staff is taken seriously and resolved quickly. Mr. Abernathy, the principal, is making great changes to the school. The staff and parents adore him! My children's teachers are kind, intellegent people who really care about what they do, and my child's academic success. The entire staff goes above and beyond to insure the children are safe and well cared for. Connerton is a great school, I'd recommend it to anyone.
