This school is still growing by leaps and bounds yearly. It is one of the few schools where they focus on learning and stand by a strict code when it comes to student behavior and appearance. The school itself participates in the "Guardian Program" and they keep the grounds well maintained and secured from visitors or persons that do not belong. The teachers are very engaged, and email communication is very clear. Parents are encouraged to participate, and they even have a minimum volunteer program for your child to continue their enrollment within the school. Overall I could not be happier with the curriculum and way this school is being managed. If there were 1 negative aspect it would be the lack of available after-school sports programs but this is also due to the number of students enrolled and their desire to participate in such sports. This does appear to be changing for the better in the past years, and I expect this to continue with its growth. If you are lucky enough to be selected to attend this gem of a school in an otherwise difficult landscape called public education.

I love Classical Prep! Both of my children have attended for years and each year it just gets better. What drew me to CPS was it's classical curriculum. My kids have textbooks and take notes. It reminds me a lot of what school was like when I was growing up. I know technology has come such a long way and there are so many great tools out there but I would prefer that my children are not in front of screens all day. The school has a no-phone policy, which I 100% agree with. They are strict on discipline and hold students accountable. In this day and age, that seems to be hard to come by. Some parents complain when their child has to serve a detention for some of their actions but how else are they going to learn how to function in society? I would 100% recommend Classical Prep to any family that is willing to put the work in with their child for a great education.

My children came from highly rated traditional Pasco County elementary schools, where their individual needs seemed to be barely acknowledged. The school was fine, but my oldest child especially seemed to struggle to find her place. I have two gifted children, one of which also has a 504 for ADHD, and we were about to try to find a Gifted program because we were unhappy with our zoned school. Enter Classical Prep. I had a lot of misconceptions about Classical Prep at first, but I can truly say that this school has made a huge impact on my children. They have been at CPS since 2nd and 3rd grade, respectively, and I have seen them thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. My eldest has been given the accommodations she needs to succeed while still being held accountable and responsible for her work--I have seen her develop so many life skills in addition to her academics. She's currently taking high school math in 7th grade, which speaks to how the school takes students and helps them accelerate when students are ready. My youngest is in 6th grade, and she is doing so well. I love the middle school--students are not numbers or lost in the shuffle, but they are individuals whose abilities and strengths matter. Classical Prep is an academically challenging school, but it's not the kind of school that only wants the top achievers. It's a place where everyone can come, everyone can grow, and everyone can become better. I feel safe dropping my kids off and I am proud to have them be a part of the Classical Prep family.

Classical Prep has been a wonderful experience for our family. The teachers hold students accountable and care about their success. They teach students to be responsible and talk things through. One thing we love is that students cannot have cell phones during the day; students have the opportunity to engage in deep conversations. The school is academically rigorous and prepares students to be successful in college and the workforce.

Rude staff, rules apply to some not all depending on your skin color. Removing my child. They speak to parents in a condescending tone. If your child is shy or quiet don’t send them here. Teachers will view their personalities as disrespectful. Go to a real private school.

I would not recommend this school at all because they don’t even care that these middle scholars are getting jumped and stuff like that these teachers and Iss people don’t even do nothing about it or the principal and they also accuse children when these kids don’t even do nothing to get into trouble and they also just blame us something we didn’t do like they don’t look at the cameras at all and think that we are Lieing so please make sure you read these reviews before you bring your kids into this school and also the middle school

Classical Prep is an A rated, high performing public charter school with over 1147 students enrolled in K-12. Please be advised that the data on this website is very outdated, for example, the SAT information is from 2018. For a more accurate depiction of the academic performance and demographic data of our school, please see our Florida Department of Education report card by clicking this link https://edudata.fldoe.org/ReportCards/Schools.html?school=4326&district=51.

There was a time when I would have given 5 stars when first opened My children we the first to go and have been there for 8 years now but ever since principle Mr Davis left it has gone downhill the rules here are ridiculous they say they have a no bullying policy but that's just not true your gonna get bullied in any school the teachers they choose are terrible anymore My daughter got student of the month 6 years in a row back when now I have decided to pull her and my other children out there is nothing special about this school it is no different then going to moon lake or any other school don't be fooled by the classical education they refuse to run buses and the traffic is terrible in this area not saying its a bad school but nothing what it used to be

My children are receiving a comprehensive education filled with word problems and inventive critical thinking. This school offers the makings of a community by engaging parents in not only the educational aspect of schooling but also by hosting fairs and offering many resources to both the parents and students, alike. My children are excited to see their teachers and peers everyday. They miss their teachers when they are absent or on vacation. I'm not sure what the ingredients are for a productive learning environment that stretches our children's threshold of learning/comprehension while maintaining the comfort/warmth of belonging. But this school has done that for my children.

I have two boys enrolled. My older boy loves going to school every day the younger one is in VPK he is happy going to school everyday. His teachers are communicative and keep parents in the loop. The teachers work with the children's ability level. I've my seen my son make huge strides this year. There is homework every night and the expectations are high. That is exactly what we were looking for. We've recommended the school to several friends. They all joined the lottery and are hoping to get their children in. Definitely recommend the school.

This school is a good school for elementary but if you are in middle school or high school its not the best. Like where is the high school experience all the high schoolers are saying its the same as middle school they don' t even have a football team but lets hope they have a track team like my kid would not even walk in and just get a detention for something stupid strict rules in the hand book just let the kids be kids i'm seeing all theses reviews that are from 2022 please do better my kids still go here but its not looking great here at classical prep the teachers need to stop yelling in students faces and make sure the students are understanding the concept my kids have so much to do during there breaks and the weekends I hope this school can get better. At least this School is better than any other school.

I'm currently in this school and I know many adults may read this and not belive me because I'm speaking from the view as a child, but this is a horrible school and please listen when I say DO NOT send your kid here. I wish I could leave but my parents are forcing me to be here. The staff here are horrible and the students are even worse. I know some will say "oh but every school is like that" but the people here are actually horrible. All the kids here have a high cocky ego and all are rude. They don't even teach AT ALL if you asked what 1 thing I've learned I wouldn't be able to tell you. Keep in mind I've always been a student who is on top of my grades, would do all my work, and I always had amazing grades. This is my first year here and my grades have never been so low till I got here. They give out so much work and don't even teach. The teachers here aren't even certified and some of them are disgusting. PLEASE do not send your kid here.

My daughter started going here bc the Public school she was attending wasn’t all that great, since she stated here I’ve had nothing but trouble with the staff here, VERY VERY RUDE staff to adults & children not only to mine sets rules that only apply to them when they feel the need to implement. Teachers don’t put in grades timely causing children’s grades to drop. This is not an actual charter school this is more like a boarding school or a boot camp they implement that you child has behavioral issues if they see they’re not following the rules to the T, no warning just straight punishment and label behavior issues! Instead of allowing the kids to be kids. Worst school to allow your child to attend the brainwashing they do to these kids is just sad!

This is my sons first year going here. He is currently in 9th grade and I'm thinking of taking him out. The school is horrible, and my son has been having a unpleasant time. The work load is bizarre. By the first week he already had several test, presentations, and homework to do without even starting a lesson yet. All the teachers here as well are extremely rude and do not provide much. My son comes home everyday with nothing good to say about his day. We are going to try and give it a few more weeks. If something does not change I will be taking my son out from this horrible school. They say a lot on their website and can't even meet their own expectations. My son isn't the only student having a bad experience.

This is one of the worst schools I have sent my daughter to. I sent her here for Highschool thinking it was a good option for her to go to because I thought this school was actually good from what had been said on the site. They claim to have "Simple, light" homework, but my daughter would always stay up having to use sites to complete her work. Keep in mind my daughter never struggled on doing her work, she always independently did her work with ease. The classes here are horrible. I refuse to believe the teachers here a even real certified teachers. They don't even know the curriculum they are teaching. They just read off the guide books and write the answers down and do not teach a single thing. They care too much about getting new students and trying to be "The Best". My daughters friends have even complained about going here. I have taken my daughter out of this school and I will be sending her to a public school. The students that attend that school are horrible as well. They don't have any respect at all. The extra classes are all jokes the teachers and students do not even know what they are doing.

My kids started at this school when it first opened. It was great for two years. After that it went down hill very fast. Teachers left, principal changes. Policies changed. They only cared about growing the school. They were not worried about retaining the student. As long as there was a steady stream of new student coming in as the old student left, they were happy. It was very disappointing. The school is no longer the same as it was when they first opened.
