So far I really like this school for my son. My son likes this school too. We have moved in and come back to this school 2x in 2 separate grades. He does really well in his classes. Great grades. I do wish they could challenge him a bit more but it's not any different than other schools he has attended. I love the communication with the teachers so far. We don't communicate everyday but always get a response and they reach out if they need too. Indo wish they would teach or let him go to Spanish class. But that's personal preference.

This school needs more recent reviews so that parents know what’s going on. The school is struggling with their scores. They are behind Pasco county education standards and it’s sad. My daughter made honor roll every grading period at this school. They barely taught anything grade level and consistently taught previous year material due to majority of the class not being on grade level or able to read. We moved back to Pasco county and they are saying my daughter is not on grade level and scored a level 1 on reading and math assessments. How is an honor roll student not on grade level? That should tell you everything you need to know about this school. I knew my daughter was in trouble when hw assignments consisted of writing vocabulary words in rainbow colors and learning previous grade math work. In second grade you should be learning multiplication and division and they did not teach it. Now she’s in third grade and is expected to know the material and she does not. This school has failed my daughter and many others. Hernando county has the worst schools and it’s no wonder that the test scores are BAD! The teacher told me that there were children in the class (second grade) that could not read! She said she was so happy that my daughter could read so she can focus on the other students who could not. What a shame! I supplemented through the school year with a IXL program but clearly it was not enough since the school was teaching first grade material to a second grade class. Keep your kids away from this school and any other Hernando county school. The only way these kids have a chance is by remaining in this district because the education standard is LOW so they won’t have to worry about being behind. However, if they leave this district and go to another one, you will see that they are in fact behind and not on grade level. Run!

Speaking as a former student --- this school is outright terrible when it comes to bullying. They shelter bullies all while punishing the victims for "tattling". The teachers here do not care about your child, so make sure you let your child know that you are supportive and will help them if someone is bothering them.I was turned away by a PE coach for "tattling" when trying to explain that a group of boys had beaten me up just minutes prior. I got in trouble the one time I fought back.Send your kids somewhere else, even if you have to go out of your way. This school isn't worth it for the convenience.

All three of my school aged children at Suncoast have thrived and blossomed as students! They love school. All of our concerns were addressed and adequately managed quickly and appropriately. This school means business, and they are joyful and kind. As a family, we couldn't ask for more.

I have asked the school (Suncoast Elementary) to test my daughter for a year now so they finally tested her for a 504 based on behavior which she does not have and did not test her for her learning disabilities and I was told a student has to fail 2 times before they get help with a reading specialist. I think they have failed in the No Child Left Behind Act. I am still trying to have her evaluated for learning disabilities here in the state of Florida. I have to say the state of Indiana is so much more advanced and on top of their struggling students. Its sad to say but Florida chooses to let their students fail and increases the risk of dropouts.
