These reviews are outdated and not reflective of this school in 2025. My daughter is currently in fourth grade and has attended this school since Kindergarten. She loves going to school every day, loves her teachers, and has many friends! She is in the accelerated math program and is doing well in all her subjects. I have volunteered many times over the years and I can tell you that the teachers work very hard and they truly care about their students. The teachers stay after school to host wonderful family events like reading under the stars, fall festival, and cookies with Santa to name a few. I am so thankful to all the teachers and staff at Pine View Elementary Magnet School! Keep up all the good work you do!

I am so happy that my children are moving schools. Pineview is just terrible to deal with long-term period

My kids are excited to get up in the morning and go to school every day. They are learning so much more and so much faster then I ever expected and having a great time doing it. Love Pineview Elementry

I moved my children from this school after being there for 2 1/2 years. The teachers are wonderful, but the administration has no interest in the children, only test scores. They do not welcome parent involvement and discourage parents from eating lunch with their children because it "disrupts their learning." Communication was terrible as well. Most of my neighbors have also pulled their children from this school for similar reasons. any school that discourages parental involvement sends up red flags to me. All three of my school age children attend Sanders now and the environment could not be more different. Parent involvement is encouraged and welcomed, the Principal knew my kids names within weeks. Very impressive

Pay no attention to the signs on the wall. Bullying is completely accepted at this school.

We moved from NY to this area for the school district and we are very pleased. Great school and great teachers.

Pine View has been a good transition for my daughter, she attended Montessori for a few years prior and even though she was very advanced academically, she lacked some socialization skills. Ms. Beck (k) has been great! she has provided me with feedback that has made my daughter's success a teamwork strategy. She reads every night, loves Math and Social Studies. The classroom size is manageable which allows the teacher enough interaction with the kids. So far my husband and I are very pleased.

The teaching at the school has dropped dramatically. Teachers are focusing too much on testing for the FCAT and not teaching our children the fundamentals. Dropping 2 letters is ridiculous after being an A school for all its years. Things need to change or parents are going to start utilitzing school choice to get away from PVES!

This school rating has dropped from an a to a c (a low c) for a reason. Common core is ridiculous, the system seems to feel the children work on an assembly line. Instead of individuality, they are to all conform and work as one mind. The staff dramatically changes yearly, as well as the administration. The present admin seems less interested than all the previous "ones". Check the scores, someone is failing our children, or perhaps the teachers don't even understand the curriculum. Embarrassing.

Great school, awful principal! Thankfully she has been removed. Communication could be better also. This was the first year my kids attended. One teacher was wonderful the other, a gifted teacher was the pits!

Both my kids studied in this school, the school has lost its focus on education after the change in the Principal. Home work is non-existent, project work is given at the last minute. Lot of slippage from communication part from teachers. The teachers even in gifted PODs are struggling with planning, organizing and communication. If this trend continues, soon it will loose its rating.

Pine View is an A Rated school and has been for years! One of the things I like about the school is if you are zoned for here, you likely will also attend Pine view Middle School and Land O Lakes high School, ALL A rates schools for many many years! (even better reports than some of the newer High schools nearby). I don't care for the change in administration (i.e. the 3 principals in 7 years, and 4 different AP), also didn't really like the teacher they prompted to Assistant Principal. Her people skills are awful. All in all, I don't interact much with the administration, only child's teacher and we have had GREAT experiences with the teachers. So far they've all been EXCELLENT, really well educated (many of them have masters in teaching), and are amazing with kids. Their teaching styles are great, and we've REALLY enjoyed the 8 years we've been here (with multiple children). School gets an A+ in my book, would merely change a few things administratively.

I love PVES!!! I've had three children go through Pine View and we've had nothing but a great experience. Parents are always welcome to come in a help in the classrooms and the staff is very friendly. You can tell that they love children. From the front office to the teachers and Admin. Pine View is Awesome!

My first kid completed 5th grade from PVES and my second kid is currently studying at PVES. There were issues when the Principal changed but they have stabilized with their education focused priorities. It would be nice if they can send the communications about events little earlier otherwise I don't see any major setback from qualified teachers perspective. Could there be better schools, you bet - but this is not bad as some have portrayed.

This school is led by the most horrific principal and assistant principal I have had the opportunity to know. As long as your child fits in a box you are fine. Otherwise expect a lot of grief and surprisingly the lack of knowledge in handling children in elementary education. We did have the opportunity to work with a handful of teachers, each of whom was dedicated and effective. However, in this type of environment the administration sets the tone for the school. My children were unfortunate enough to attend for two years. We subsequently switched schools and have had a very enriching experience at their new school. I would not subject my children to this environment.

I have been at PVES for the last five years and absolutely love it! I know how hard the teachers, administration, and other staff members work on a daily basis. They put their students first and want EVERY child to succeed! I highly recommend Pine View to new families and potential staff members! :)

My child has gone to this school for a few years now, and we are on our 3rd. set of principal & asst. principal. In our 1st. week, we had a new rule added daily, and overall confusion. Let's hope this wont set the tone for the new school year. While some new rules seem to be beneficial, others seem like an accident waiting to happen. Let's have faith they will get it together. We have some fabulous teachers here and we certainly dont want to lose them..

I agree with the last post. Change is fine if it is for the good of our children but communication of any change is necessary especially when you want the change to work. How can any administration feel comfortable with making so many changes and not informing the parents but expect cooperation. This is America, this is a public school, I pay my taxes, I have a right to know what is going on with my child's school. What is the big secret? Hey PVES, get with it. Have respect for the parents, keep us in the know and maybe you will get a little more respect.

We recently acquired a new administration..getting any sort of school/home communication with the previous duo was bad, now it is non-existent. If an administration doesn't respect or even care how the families of the children feel, with whatever new "policy" they create, they will certainly get NO respect in return. Why is there no communication? This is small town America, not Russia.

My son was sent to the clinic because he was crying out in pain during class. Doreen Jaszcar, the clinic assistant, calls me and tells me that I need to control my son and that he needs to have consequences for his behavior because he is being too loud and disturbing the other children. She said all of these appalling things in front of my son and other children in the clinic. They heard every emotionally and verbally abusive word she said about sick children. She should not be working with children since she believes children should be punished because they are sick and in pain. The principal will not say what was said to her regarding her deplorable behavior. Jaszcar has no remorse because she said that children need to have consequences for their behavior again even after she was "talked to".The principal said that this would not have any effect on my child. I completely and utterly disagree. If anything words can be more hurtful and can live on in the mind of a child for a very long time and continue to cause them emotional and physical pain. I am extremely disappointed how this was handled. I have very little trust in how my children will be treated in the clinic in the future
