Really dirty since kids do not clean up (I really bad for the custodians.4.teachers are ok but some are just kinda strict5. Pls just clean the bathroom daily during class time. It's a night mare I would not recommend

This school is a joke and waste of state and federal money every day it remains open. Your kids are regularly disrespected and made to feel they're nothing more than lying problem kids, rather than deal with their teachers who aren't doing their job in a professional way. I worry about m y child's safety and mental state daily since going to this so-called school. If you can RUNNNNN as fast as possible, so your kids aren't put at risk.

I have been going to this school for two years now and it's kind of..bad,because of the people. This school is filled with very judgemental people, and drug users, the coaches annoy most people, and the food is awful. The education is fine. It's just the people.

When I heard the rumors about this school, I was nervous about my son attending. However, these last 2 years at Thornton have been wonderful. His teachers are very involved and great about responding to emails, etc. when I have questions concerning his grades or conduct. My son says there are almost never any fights, and that they have a very strict tardy policy so students are never in the halls after the bells ring. The teachers say that the kids are very well behaved. Nowadays, you are always hearing about kids cussing teachers out in schools but I've never heard of an incident like that at Thornton. The Administrators are very caring and honest. All in all, I can't figure out why the school has a negative reputation at all. I mean, what other middle school or school in general spends and entire first week of school just trying to play games and find ways to get to know the kids and build relationships with the teachers? And they are doing great with the new STAAR exam scores, which is amazing since most campuses throughout the state failed. For a campus that is so diverse, and is considered economically disadvantaged (lower income), this campus is doing an incredible job.
