I’ve been really impressed with our experience at Rhoads and everything my daughter has learned this year. You can tell that admin and teachers really care about the students and want to help them.

All of these reviews are so old but the school is different now. I think they’ve done a good job transitioning with COVID. This is a fun school that my friend’s kids went to.

Katy ISD is nationally recognized for its highly ranked schools however not all schools in the Katy school District are created equally. The front office staff are completely uncaring and absolutely unprofessional. My child got food poisoning from their cafeteria twice last year and nothing was done about it. Some of their teachers are great while others obviously don't care about your childs education. You are not allowed to bring younger siblings to any school programs or functions. As a stay at home mom this makes it impossible for me to be involved in my childs education or even to just be there for things like awards ceremonies. I've never considered homeschooling before but after our experience with this sorry excuse for a school I'm very tempted to pull my child out of the public school system until we are able to move to an area with a better grade school.

My daughters attend this school. Staff act like they work at the post office and not a school.

Very unfriendly principle. Very rude. Doesn't take criticism at all. No slkills in handling parents complaints. Moving out of location so our child won't attend this school any more

This school is just AWFUL! My daughter transferred here 2 years ago when we moved. She came from another Katy school. The difference in the schools, and even my daughter, is totally different.Rhoads discourages parental involvement. While the office staff is polite the administration is another story. They're actually quite rude! My daughter even says her new school is bad and she's always loved school. Disappointed is an understatement. It's so bad we are even considering moving again. I would NOT recommend this school!

School is very family unfriendly. Younger siblings and even newborn babies are not allowed at school functions. (field day, class parties, etc.) Teachers on average have a lower amount of teaching experience compared to other Katy and Houston schools. That information can be found in government statistics. Not much good to say about this school.

I have 4 children who have attended Rhoads, and we have been there since the school opened. My husband and I are regular volunteers at the school and my son, who is now in college, volunteers during his breaks to give back to his former school. I say all this to show that our family loves and believes in the staff at Rhoads. They are committed and loving. Anyone that says or feels differently has not spent time at the school. The children are great and there are great opportunities for the children to do extracurricular activities such as choir, violin, percussion, Read Deed Run, RISE, safety patrol and more. Rhoads is truly a school of excellence and opportunity.

Very good School. My daughter started her elementary in this school and now she is going to graduate from here this year. With all my experience I can say this is one of the best school in Katy. Principal Ms. Carrie L. Lowery made lot of progression to this school. I just can't say enough of her and also so many teachers and staffs are outstanding. Michelle and other staff members in the front are very hardworking and polite to the parents and children. Ms shulke , I am not sure if I spelled her name correct but she is been so wonderful and very involved..Ms. Chen and Ms Patterson is wonderful Musci teachers.Ms. Hall and Ms Schroff are wonderful art teacher. Her current class room teacher Ms. Chamber is young teacher but very advanced and knowledgable. She always encouraged her students. Ms..Vora and MS. Steven, MS. cage, there is lot of incredible teachers and staffs to credit. My daughter is in gifted program and MS. Clark has been an amazing inspiration for children and I seen my daughter has improved a lot since she was in her program. As a parent we have a responsibility to watch our children and their school and community and voice our openion. Rhodes the best.

I have had 4 children go through this school and have seen it go down hill each year. When my oldest daughter attended (she is now a sophmore) the school was excellent and I couldn't have said enough good things. However now, the administration is awful and while there are a few good teachers left. The majority seem like they don't want to be teaching or it's an inconvenience to deal with children. They address students in a rude condescending manner. It's no longer a warm and friendly environment. How are they supposed to reinforce manners and respect with our children if their own behavior is questionable? I feel like the teachers and adminstration have run out of steam and enthusiam for the work they do and it directly translates to the students. Something needs to be done to pick up morale for the staff and students to return this school to the greatness it was and can be. If you notice, a majority of the positive reviews are from years prior.

I have had two daughters go to Rhodes and I am not pleased with the school at all. In comparison to the elementary schools my older kids attended, I have found Rhodes to be very unfriendly. They tend to discourage parental involvement on many levels. Parents are not welcome to walk their child to class, they do not throw class parties, allow birthday invitations to be handed out or have 'room mothers'. They like to say this is for the safety of the children but in reality this policy of discouraging parental involvement makes it harder for us to all work together and protect our children.

This is an awsome school. The teachers and staff are wonderful(one of my fav is Mrs. Chapman). The school is also very clean inside and out. My child is in kindergarten and is learning so much!
