My child has been in this school for 5 years and we will surely miss it. All the staff knew my child and were friendly to us too. Lots of parent support equaled lots of nice perks for the kids. I do wish there was more than one counselor though.

HES is an excellent school. The teachers have been great, as has the administration. Most of our teachers have been fabulous, but in one case where we had a teacher with obvious issues, the administration handled it well. Mr. Weber is a very good principal, visible and friendly and knows the students. The communication is excellent, the parents are very active, and student-teacher ratios are low. We have definitely enjoyed the schedule. I feel like the breaks come right when the kids need them. Summer is a couple weeks shorter than I'd ideally like, but still plenty of time to get in a vacation and a couple camps and just some down-time. The 3 weeks in the Fall more than make up for it, b/c it's still warm enough to take a trip to the beach or just enjoy fall sports without early bedtimes and homework. Would definitely recommend.

This is an excellent elementary school! Our family recently moved to a new town and had to switch schools. We always new Hillsborough was great but now we have something to compare it to. We were so sorry we had to leave. The teachers truly care about the students and help them to excel. The schedule is great for the students. They retain what they learn and aren't burnt out because short breaks are built in throughout the year. Parents are very involved and the communication from teachers and administration is expected. I was happy to see that so many staff members knew my children by name. There were many fun activities that helped form a real community at the school. My kids were so comfortable there and never complained about school. All children should be so lucky to go to a school like this. If we could go back, we would.
