Both of my children go to this school, and have been attending post-COVID. This is an amazing school. From the teachers, the parents and community, the staff - everyone cares about the well being and education experience of the kiddos. The PTA rocks at this school! We are well-informed about our kids’ educational progress, homework, projects, presentations, exams, and fun engaging events for our family!

My daughter came from Oakland Public schools which was a terrible experience. We came here in the third grade and now she is finishing the fourth. She’s went from being behind in everything and not having confidence, Now she’s exceeding expectations and very confident and enthusiastic about going to school every day.

amazing. the principal interacts with the students everyday. besides saying hi, of course. he visits your classroom regularly to check in, as well as send staff. you can math battle with him, which is a fun way to encourage students to practice their math. if you face off all the students... the smart principal is next !

My son was in kindergarten last year and now he’s in first grade. My daughter is currently in kindergarten. My experience with my kids’ teachers has been great, but my satisfaction with the school is declining. The school is trying to accommodate kids from other cities and districts which is affecting our classrooms negatively. This is causing the classrooms to grow in number which takes away the one on one time with the teachers. This schools rating went from a 9 to a 7 in a year and I am concerned that next year it will be even lower. People who actually live in the district pay a lot in property taxes to have the kids go to this school and it upsets me that some kids in the district are waitlisted and kids from out of the district are getting into the classrooms.I hope that this school fixes these issues before they become like Lupine.

This was my son's first year at Hanna Ranch. We transitioned from another local, public school that was struggling in a number of areas. Coming to Hanna Ranch was like a breath of fresh air; parents, teachers, administrators and children are friendly, helpful and kind. My son is in the 4th grade and the transitioned has been a little tough for him - leaving behind good friends and having to adjust to higher expectations from teachers and even classmates - but he does have a few new friends and he is learning to be more diligent and responsible and his work ethic is improving. I am very happy with this school.

Great school, great teachers. I'm very happy with my kids' education here. The principal is a strong leader. Parents are very involved and there are plenty of after school activities. Go Hanna!

I am an African American parent of two children attending this school. My daughter has attended since first grade and my son since kindergarten. A strength of the school is its diversity. My children have friends and classmates of every background, and as a result, have interest in and respect for varied cultural traditions. Ms. Hayward (principal who just retired) was integral to the school's success. She emphasized and facilitated open communication between parents and teachers. She also implemented Sunny Climate rules to discourage bullying and conflict between students and to teach respect for school rules. In the past, almost all of the teachers were tenured. With retirements, many are newer with shorter track records. We need more male and minority teachers. But overall, it is an excellent learning environment. Parent participation is nearly 100%. The office staff are awesome! P. Miles - parent
