My older son recently went to this school and my younger son is still in there. When I first tried to register my kids in this school I had to remind the school multiple times to process there documents. Our kiddos are told many times in school to follow orders the first time not the second time but this school fundamental doesn't even follow this basic teaching. In my kids first day in school one of them told me that he had seen adult images engraved onto the restroom doors near a restroom toward the cafeteria and they school seemingly never has ever done something about like a paint respray or whatever. A noticeable amount teachers also seem to have a more "do it yourself" attitude instead of helping students. One of my sons had a question about his math homework and his teacher simply redirected him to read from his math book instead of helping him. Not everyone is bad, a lot of teachers are great but there is need for improvement. My kids have never had a bullying problem in the school so I'll rate that as a positive. Overall I'll say its less than a pleasant experience especially compared to my kids old school in another state.

I really like this school and its teachers. They really care about the students' school performance and their care About the students.

There is a lot of bullying at this school, the school counselors refuse to address these issues and tell the victims to get thicker skin. This school is on of the worst for bullying!

would get bullied everyday for three years this school did nothing about it i have seen other students get bullied to. This school does not do a god job at that i rember some days not wanting to wake up and go to school because it was so bad i would get bullied by the same people and the teachers did nothing. THE LOCKER ROOM was the worst students would bullied in there pants each other and more yet the people in charge did not see like how do you guys not see that there needs to be more people in charge i would say the only people who actually did stuff were the Councillors and principles. Hopefully things have changed since i went there but im just speaking from experience. i have y'all know that i was scared to tell anyone about this topic.

Extremely horrible, shockingly soul-crushing, and utterly disastrous and a poisonous experience.

We are not impressed with Maus Middle School and do not recommend it. Friends have transferred their children as well.

I can honestly say, Maus Middle School has been the worst experience of my life and the greatest waste of time. My health has decreased, hours of sleep is lost because of massive amounts of homework and projects with no outline or direction; causing less punctuality. My social reputation and personal feeling of safety has been nearly shattered. Drugs, vaping, sexual assault, physical violence, severe verbal bullying is everywhere. When reported, one of two things happen -- it gets investigated and nothing is done or you are silenced. If you plan on sending your kids here, don't. The environment here for students is absolutely toxic.

Superb. The teachers most often are responsive and encourage to be in contact with the administration of the school

Very bad school worst I have seen because of these 4 main things. Teachers, They teachers only teach for 2-10 minutes at this school. And rest of time is doing worksheets, stations and we get them done just in 10 minutes and wait till class ends. In all teachers barely teach which contributes to my low grades. Please do not send your child because you think kids are smart because of the 10 out of 10 in all the subjects . The truth is Texas has a very low state average then other states with have averages high as 81 when Texas has 41. Thats why It looks like the kids are doing good. Homework, We get way too much homework. I our old district we got homework done in 30 minutes. But In this school we get so much homework that I stay up to 11.00 in order to get just a 90 sometimes 40. It is very hard since the teachers barley teach you. Money, I am not surprised to see this school is money savvy but there has been no improvements tech is still from 2008 and is refurnished. Even though it costs 20 dollars to buy a art book. 5 Dollars to get a new plastic rawer card. 8 dollar to replace ace the background of your school picture. And still no improvement Where does this money go too.

I think this school has been the worst 3 years in my entire life. Not to scare new students, but something has to change soon for this to be a safe environment for them. This school is a total mess. Please fix it for future students.

I had three sons who attended this Maus and they received an outstanding education. My experience with the teachers and leadership has been very positive. The enrollment for this school is average for most FISD middle school and the teachers do respond quickly to an issue you have regarding your child.

We won't be returning to this school. The enrollment is too high and the teachers are stretched thin.

They dress code you and make you wear baggy large sweatpants that say Dress For Success. So everyone knows you got dresscoded and can embarrass you. They also are sexist and make boys do more work than the girls when girls are capable of doing it too. Also the teachers have favorites and some just sit and do their makeup all day, not even caring about what we do. If you get on their bad side they will not answer your questions and if they do they will be annoyed and have a very mean tone. If your hurt or its hard to breathe when your running track they wont care and will tell you to keep running or you will do double fitness. when they clean our uniforms they use cheap laundrey detergent. I have been here for 3 years and I know what it like

Teachers are horrible, they are not helpful and they don't seem to know the ciriculum they are teaching.

This is our first year at Maus and it has been wonderful. Teachers and counselors are really great with the students. I believe that most of them seek to give the students the individual attention that they need. It seems to be a very positive and encouraging environment.

This school communication between parents and administration is horrible. If there is any issues at the school, it will take several calls to even meet or speak with someone for a resolution. I think there are way too many young teachers/staff members there that do not have the maturity to conduct business in a professional manner. Some of the teachers are great!!

Maus Middle School is a fine school, there's nothing special about it. When you're there, you may notice that the school favors females far more than they do males to the point it's ridiculous. In lunch, girls get to class fastest and boys have to go the long route. In classes, usually if the boys do something wrong, even if the girls are doing it as well, boys will be told to "look at the girls", as if they were a good role model. However, the largest favoritism I've seen so far in this school regarding boys and girls is in any athletic class that I've attended. Here's an example of one of the instances: We had finished our warm-up and 2 boys were talking to each other, and 4 girls were talking in the back of the gym. The coach said "Girls, you can go change, boys you have 50 push-ups for talking". After this, whilst everyone was at around 20-25 push up mark, one person messed up his push-up and the coach had made us all start all over again, except this time we all did it in sync. We had to do 20 push-ups given we had little time. If your child hates favoritism or you do, do not attend this school. They largely favor girls over boys, to the point some could call it sexist.

This school is very impressive! We were transferred here from a small Texas town and my children were worried about making friends at a new school in a big city. When they walked into the office they were greeted by the staff and by Maus students and taken off for a tour. They were paired with students to make there first week less stressful. The students not only showed them around, but also made sure they did not eat alone at lunch and introduced them to all types of students. After a year of the Maus experience, I will never want to go anywhere else. The teachers are also a true asset to the school, providing tutorials if the students need help and plenty of fun activities and opportunities to participate in school functions or sports. Terrific school and amazing staff!
