This is an amazing school for 3 of my kids. I've seen them all develop and learn and thrive. If you read some of these one star reviews they are incredibly unfair and disingenuous picking on one or two situations. One has to wonder how these people are even functioning in society at all. The level of engagement at Rennell with teachers and the parents is astonishing and welcome. Each year I have to sign up on the same day the "Watchdad" volunteer list comes out or I will not be able to get a spot. My understanding is that Teachers want to teach here and will often leave surrounding schools in order to to upgrade. The principle is amazing and really sets an inclusive culture. All 3 of my children have enjoyed there time here and have excelled at Rennell.

A teacher in 5th grade gave the students a board game with non appropriate language. And then she said not to tell the parents because she would get in trouble. She said “This board game has inappropriate language so don’t tell your parents about this.” The teachers would constantly get mad at students and made them cry. Even when the students would ask to use the restroom the teachers wouldn’t say yes. They would say “You should have used the restroom at lunch or before large group.” But the answer is simple. The students didn’t need to use the restroom at that time. Therefore that’s why I don’t like this school and I don’t recommend it for other kids.

This school is the worst school I have ever been associated with as an academic professional, a student, and a mother.

Tremendous school still relatively new with good teachers. Not perfect but each year it seems there is continued improvement.

Rennell elementary is a great school! Since the year that open it door the teachers and staff do their best for the kids and the community! My kids love going in there! No complains not even with the PTO!

My daughter needed summer school too and the principal said she wouldn't qualify that she wasn't in that bad of a situation...but yet she failed the grade level. I thought she was in the perfect situation to go to summer school. I guess they pick who they want to attend and let others fail.

The school does not charge for tutoring. This is a minsunderstanding. Some teachers do private tutoring outside of school hours and off campus on their own time. This is where a charge might be feasible. Summer school allocations are dictated based on funding by federal requirements. This is not a decision made by the school.

This school does not go out their way to make sure your child learns. They charge $40 an hour after school tutorial which I never heard the other schools in cy-fair do. Even if your kid needs summer school they won't give it to him they rather see him fail the grade. When other schools in cy-fair told me " sure we can put him in summer school to help him ". This school needs to get it together!

Great School and excellent teachers as well. At times during lunch, students have a science ball event that allows teams to compete based on the amount of correct answers. It keeps students entertained and at the same time test their knowledge about science topics. Teachers also make them self-available to assist students that need extra help with tutoring. My son has improved drastically academically and for that I am very grateful.

My daughter is in her second year at Rennell and my wife and I could not be more pleased. The teachers and staff are attentive and go out of their way to make sure each child s needs are meet. Between both my kids we have attended four elementary schools in cypress and Rennell is by far our favorite!
