I loved going to school here! The teachers gave me lots of help and were essential to me learning and graduating. I loved the sports family we created.

Cypress High School is truly one of the worst schools to attend. The teachers that I had when attending were horrible. I have never felt comfortable or safe at Cypress High. I attended 4 years of high school here, and I, as a person of color, faced so much racism not from the students but from the teachers and staff. the year before I graduated, many of the passionate teachers who actually cared for students were laid off due to budget cuts, leaving only the teachers with old teaching techniques and lack of understanding and relatability with newer generations.

School isn't not helpful. My child had problems at school and needed help. This school is only obsessed with money and has absolutely no interest in students and parents. And it creates a gap between students and parents.

I was a student here and I had a miserable time. The teachers and the administration were so unprofessional. The math system was awful. They only let math honors students take math courses based on the correct level. For example, I was supposed to take Pre-Calculus like normal with EVERY OTHER school, but they MADE me take Trigonometry, which put my math level a grade lower than. Even schools with lower school rating had students follow regular math levels but Cypress makes students one level lower by junior year.

Amazing school and great environment. While my kids were attending there, they enjoyed every day. Cypress High School is the best school in Anaheim High School District.

This school never does anything ! When my child was getting bullied. All they said I will transfer her to a different school. That's how they solve it for it to be easy for them.

Graduated from this school and honestly. I hated it. They didnt prepare me for college. And whenever i asked a teacher for help they would block me off. Teachers there dont care about their students. The dress code rule was rediculous. I wasnt even allowed to wear shorts in 90 degree weather. The school doesnt have much creativty. They dont have events during school or lunch. Sadly i wasnt allowed to transfer to Los Alamitos either. I was in the sports program for song. Sadly i have to say that even though i was in their song it was very bad. Coach didnt care much about us and i have to say its like that for every sport at that school. Division 3 -divison 5 in all sports just made the school look terrible. School didnt prepare me for college.

Der Sir/ Madam, Thank your for your response. As I mentioned in my previous mail I need to admit my daughter to your school in the next school year. Please advise me in this regard. My daughter,s GPA is not very good at this point of time but certainly it can be upgraded if she is in a better school environment. Thanks. Donald Kaluwadevage

This high school was a great high school. I loved it there. the teachers were awesome, and the principle was just as great. They were very educational there, and helpful, even when you don't attend their school anymore. They're also very friendly. The student's were just great. And the principle tried to be as fair as possible. I would be very happy to send my children to this school. And i would be honored if they did. Because I went to this school myself.

I think this school is great, I'm in choir and we have lots of performances . One every 2 months! Most everyone is friendly and the teachers are great. I can't see the effects of budget cuts anywhere besides some supplies. Sports are not suffering either, they are great. Teachers are also really good, they challenge us and the ones I got this year are great.

I am a fairly regular substitute teacher at Cypress HS. Budget cuts have forced the cancellation of some programs, but, overall, this is a school with a dedicated core of teachers and the Administration is staunchly in favor of a high quality learning culture.

Most of these review are old. Things have changed. Theatre is gone. Sports are struggling. There is no money to support programs. Tension is high, so patience is thin, for teachers, admin & students. Everything is "teach to the test" to show high ratings while individual attention is almost non-existent. Classroom size is too high (35-40) so even great teachers can't find the time to help. Many good teachers don't agree with the principal so have moved to other schools. There is no money for coaches so sports have gone down hill. The racial division has grown with about 50% asian, so that seems to have caused less parental involvement. I don't see things changin anytime soon.
