If you ever wanted to upgrade your child's mental illness from two stars to three stars or beyond, you can do it here for free! Your 11 year old has regular warning signs for regular depression? Oh, just put 'em here and in two years they'll be leaving concerning illustrations and verbal depictions of self harm EVERYWHERE. Have fun with this one cool trick to permanently maim any child who isn't emotionally pristine!

Op 2 juli 2023 hebben we uw locatie in Den Haag persoonlijk bezocht. Tijdens dit bezoek hebben we afgesproken dat mijn kind op dit moment wordt uitgeschreven en de opzegtermijn van 3 maanden in 2024 (maart, april, mei) zal inhalen, zoals we persoonlijk hebben overeengekomen. Het is echter verontrustend dat we herhaaldelijk meldingen ontvangen over de afwezigheid van mijn kind en dat er geld van onze bankrekening wordt afgeschreven.Dit gebrek aan opvolging en de voortdurende problemen getuigen van een gebrek aan zorgvuldigheid. Als deze kwesties niet snel worden opgelost, overweeg ik verdere stappen te nemen om verdere frustratie te voorkomen. Ik wil benadrukken dat deze academie problemen heeft met het nakomen van afspraken, dus wees voorzichtig en overweeg het maken van geluidsopnamen. Ik heb inmiddels contact opgenomen met het ministerie van Onderwijs, omdat ik van mening ben dat er misbruik wordt gemaakt van tweetalige mensen.

This school has little diversity and low engagement for students, but there is a lot of engagement with parents. Very safe, hardly any bullying. Campus is small and crowded. Many complain about homework, but you don't have to sleep at 3am if you keep up with your homework.

This school is really bad. I'm always stressed with work and they give so much school assignments as well as homework too. This school promised a better education yet most of everything in middle school is either review from public schools or the same work. The only good thing is that the students there are slightly nicer than at a regular school. There is not much violence but you get punished if you forget one small thing or misbehave even just a single time. This school is built off of lies, anxiety, and sadness. Don't go here. They also overwork you and get mad if you don't get how to do something such as coding. The teachers expect you to know everything and refuse to admit they're wrong. I've never liked this school. Once more, don't go here.

Pretty good, but low diversity. Students are nice too but too much work load, sleeping about 3-5 on average everyday.

I'm an alum of Oxford who has now graduated from a top 4-year university and started a successful career. I attended OA for all six years. Oxford is hard, but it did prepare me for university and "real" life. The hardest schoolwork I've ever done was at Oxford, and being used to that workload made my university years MUCH more manageable.Also, while attending Oxford I still had a life--I hung out every day (and most weekends) with a great group of friends (that I'm still close with), I worked part time for the last two years in HS, played sports, was in clubs, and still got to have the classic high school fun and silliness. I wasn't a 4.0 student at Oxford but I had a good GPA, went to community college, and transferred into a top UC school and graduated with honors from the UC. So, it is possible to take advantage of all the good Oxford has to offer--a challenging curriculum, being surrounded by good, driven people with strong character, and the fostering of a good work ethic--while still having a life. It's all about finding that balance, and Oxford taught me early on how to do that. If I had gone to a regular HS I probably would have been bored and gotten into trouble, so I'm glad my parents forced me to at least try attending in 7th grade. The only downside is that at Oxford, you're surrounded by the same kind of people (either naturally smart lazy kids or overachieving smart kids), so you do get a bit stunted in learning how to deal with other kinds of people. But looking back, I'm glad I went to the school, and I don't think I'd be where I am today if I'd gone to Western or Cypress or something.

I dislike this school does to kids. I always heard great things about it. Then I dug a bit a heard horror stories about kids being stressed out with the amount of work they give. I thought, maybe those kids lack the discipline or the ability to keep up (cocky, I know) . But after giving it a chance for 2 years I can say it takes a special type of person to succeed at Oxford. Someone most likely quiet, someone who has no other activities outside from school. Someone who doesn’t mind spending hours doing homework. I have a very disciplined child. Goal oriented who always pushes herself. Oxford cracked my happy child. Yes, it would take a parent to step in a say “no more hw today, I don't care about your grades” … but then there will always be those parents who don’t care and kids who will always be ahead because their parents didn’t care about their mental health. At the end of the day I was hoping Oxford would be more quality than quantity. My first red flag was a parent lead group, where one of the welcoming speeches was “we have our kids here to go to universities, nobody here should have community college in their sights, and for Universities 4.0 GPA is nothing, we have to push our children for more than that! That’s why we are Oxford!” …I thought maybe parents were a little extreme but I realized how bad things were when I heard a group of students was requesting the principal to allow for “ONLY” 25 assignments per week. These children would be happy w ONLY 25 assignments per week! Ask yourself how many do they get?!?! So As a parent I have to balance my child's mental health for her grades. It doesn’t matter how smart she is, if hw is incomplete her grade will go down, I will have a happy child. BUT I chose to go to a normal school where she can be happy AND succeed. Again, this school is great for certain type of children/families. But if you have a decent homeschool , and/or your child has an outgoing personality that thrives on extra activities, please stay away from Oxford.

Oxford has a well-deserved fierce reputation for academic excellence. The students are super high-achieving, laser-focused, and grades-conscious. Our kids started here as 7th graders, cleared-eyed that if this wasn’t a “fit”, we wouldn’t push it and go to our local school. It worked out beautifully! Their 6th grade teacher at Benito Juárez was OUTSTANDING in preparing them both for OA. It’s not a conventional HS, limited sports/dances stuff like that, tho extremely robust vocal/perf music programs. Kids/families are all rule-followers, on-timers, hugely invested in their kids’ success. The teachers/curriculum are solid but not especially innovative/forward thinking/novel as you might think. The key to Oxford’s excellence is the students in this district who are super highly motivated, not necessarily the curriculum (ex: limited humanities, languages, current events offerings; intense emphasis on STEM). My kids , though not STEM techy guys, thrived and found joy and success academically, emotionally, intellectually, socially, and just plain normally at OA, thanks to their baseball crew (baseball coach is HARDCORE and commands respect!). They managed the stress well. Not all do. If your kid is bright, kind, and self-motivated, they’ll do great! If they’re tightly wound and put enormous pressure on themselves, they’ll be in great company. Be sure they have a release valve and an outlet for joy, and that they can adapt to going from a big fish in a small elementary school pond, to being just another smart kid. Would I recommend OA? 100% yes! Would i trust my gut and let them trust their gut if it isn’t the right place for them? 100% yes.

Overall, Oxford is a good school with good teachers. My son's experience here was good but he didn't care for it too much. He found that many of his classmates didn't care much about doing their homework or preparing for the exams. The homework was decent, but nothing demanding that he would have to spend more than 30 minutes to one hour every night. He had some issues with a couple of teachers here- he and I had to have a meeting with the assistant principal and guidance counselor with one teacher. There was one teacher is 7th grade that assigned my son to a desk where he would have to jump over a bar to sit in his seat. When I address my safety concern at an open house meeting, she flat out told me that the reason she had to put my son in that desk is because the district didn't give her new furniture and she advised me to tell the district that she needs new Chrome books too. I was shocked to hear a teacher speak to a parent in that manner, when all I wanted to do was make her aware of the safety issues regarding the assigned seat. She did move my son to another seat the following day, but I find that tone and attitude unacceptable.He didn't feel that some of his classes were challenging enough. Just for insight, he received all A's and A+'s in both years. He really enjoyed his math classes but I attribute it to him being placed in an higher grade math class.These comments are only from experience he and I have seen in junior high, maybe high school here is a lot different. My son has left Oxford and he will be starting high school in another district. Good luck to the school and the students.

If you are on the top of your classes in terms of grades, it will be fine. But if you are just pretty smart but have interests in clout, this is not the school for you. As a student who currently attends Oxford Academy, I find no pride in this school. As there are more students who excel in academic classes, their personality is obviously going to be more selfish and greedy. In fact, I consider Oxford a very toxic environment if you are not the person to only study. If you want to just be good academically but also have a social life, I highly recommend going to your home school and finding friends like you. The students here generally only know how to study and get good grades so although there is not any physical bullying, being insulted for pathetic reasons are highly likely. For teachers, they are not anything you expect from a good ranking school but most are not that bad. Overall, Oxford is for those who only study and try to beat others because from all the vocabulary they have studied, loyalty and compassion are not one of them.

Great Public School. We have moved from different schools from public to private school and finally, we found our match. This school gave my students all levels of opportunities from great academic learning as well as after school Activities and community outreach. Yes if you are considering of moving your student this school is the best out there. The best part is the student body. Wonderful group of students that my children are growing up with, socially and academically.

They have such a bad and rude staffs working there in the admission office. I want my kid not only good in academic, but also in good manner. For example gave wrong information and very rude raising voice and hang up the phone during conversation, Mrs. King, the worst. Let see how long and how far this school will last with such a bad staffs like that. Very bad example to the kids. Each staffs gave a different answer to the same question.

I was a student at this school. I enjoyed the rigorous academics because it really prepared me for college. I enjoyed the tight knit community that this small school offered and I loved how we were able to get cluster classes that would last all the six years. There are many parents and students that will agree with me that there are two teachers who are only there because of their tenure (Beck_tt and Roy_l) and it is unfortunate that they "teach" crucial classes (Geometry and English 8HP). The sad part is that they will continue to teach , even though the principal and vice principal are well aware of their lack of teaching ability. This school requires that the students wear uniforms and the only people who complain about that are the girls who would come to school with clothes that barely cover anything. If you feel that uniforms will prevent you from expressing yourself, then this isn't the school for you. There are good and bad parts in every school, but in my opinion, I believe this is the best school to go to if you want to become a disciplined student who is well-rounded in all departments of education.

I expected quality teachers from all the teachers here in this school, but there are some of them shouldn't be there. They should have been fired long time ago. Just because he/she is not doing anything wrong that doesn't mean they are qualified. At this school, all the kids work hard to get good grades and be on top of the games, so the teacher(x),( 'only a few') should do their jobs professionally and diligently. Just saying.

Well this school like any other school has some good teachers like any other school and some bad. But really the teachers are just mediocre and are apathetic of students work habit and homework. They just kick out kids that get Cs and have a exam to ensure that there are only the smart kids and some aren't as smart as they seem. One student gets Cs on this certain individual's tests on his tests and still has As for his grade. Well yeah the student get high scores overall but are the teachers good? No not really. So you should send your child to a more academic and more focused school that focuses on the child's grades AND her or his progress. The students unless they have been lucky enough to be selected into one of the better classes, the teachers are not very professional

The best thing I like about this school is the peer influence and the school discipline. You are surrounded by almost purely smart and high achievers with high expectations from everyone else. You are not likely to be exposed to bad stuffs as you see elsewhere. Short term gain is getting at least to the UC system but in the long term, if you can stick to OA regiments, you are trained to be successful no matter what you aim to do. If your child is extremely creative and like to do thing differently all the time then there are better school. If you child can't keep up with heavy workload or average, or have some other talents other than academic then it would be best not to try for OA.

My little patriot is now a 9th grader. She loves this school very much. She loves her cluster teacher, who will be with her the whole time she attends Oxford. The students are not stuck up. They are way more friendly and welcoming than your average school. Coming from an elementary school where she didn't fit in it was like a breath of fresh air for my daughter to be going to a school where the kids are more like her. The teachers, counselors, and faculty are all very nice and they genuinely care about the students. The workload is very high, but that is to be expected when a student takes all honors courses. A lot is expected because these students can deliver, and they need challenges. The entrance exam was not difficult; just California standards and an essay. The top 25 students from each of the 8 middle school districts within AUHSD are accepted. There are about 50 or more elementary schools within the AUHSD so, on average, only a few students from each are accepted. Many don't end up staying so, if your child doesn't make it the first time, try again for 8th and 9th grade.

My child applied for oxford for 7th grade and had all straight As as a six grader and they put all the emphasis on one test which is ridiculous because some kids may get nervous testing anyway when asked what her score was was told they could not tell me ?????????????????
