Everyone is friendly. The teacher and I have good communication in regards to my child. What I can't understand is why the principal is parking at the front door of the school when she has a parking spot with her name on it. This is unprofessional and it's a fire hazard if there is a emergency. I wish I could upload a picture because the principal is not setting a good example by parking her car in front of the school house door.

How does PGCPS justify keeping the principal at this school when state testing scores are so low. The principal needs to go.

Everyone has been so helpful and happy. The school is inviting and clean. My son is truly being challenged.

This school is ranked 150\150 in PGCPS elementary schools. The hard to work with principal has only made it worse. The turn over of staff has increased. This school should be closed.

This building is old. They didn't have a computer lab. It's been some changes and chaos and confusion and lack of discipline rules the day. The staff has had a higher turn over rate due to management changes. It seems staff count up their sick days. All substitutes know that they can usually find a job at The Grove. Its a non-title 1 school, so resources and/ or extracurricular activities were scarce when I was there. There were issues with bullying and fighting that were never properly addressed had at least 2 parents not re-enroll their kids because of it. The staff morale was definitely low and worn down. Changes in staff not just from year to year but also during the school year would occur. It just seemed change just for change sake. If you can try to get your kid into James Ryder Randolph or some other school! A former staff member and parent of a kid in PGCPS. Furthermore, with all the staff changes and new technology when is this school supposed to turn around? Its still dead last in the county. I'm no longer teaching nor in this building just sharing my experiences.

This is a great school thanks to the Principal's leadership! Stay strong CGES Principal!! Soo many parents see your hard work and are thankful for it! We don't need a new principal, CGES has had too many already! Stay the course, we've got your back!! I attended the schools Math Night and my child had so much fun!! Too bad I don't see any post about that. This school is using technology in a wonderful way. When I talked to the Principal, she told me about the schools history and how it didn't have technology for the teachers to use before she arrived, just broken computers that kept getting repaired! She has done many upgrades. Why aren't we posting about what she has provided teachers with to do their jobs a little better!! The principal presented to parents during the Parent University session on how to prepare our children for the new PARRC assessment. Her session was lively, engaging and very hands on, I learned a lot. Our children have a long road ahead. She is bringing structures to this school that, believe me were NOT there before! Too bad folks are spending time talking about the principal rather than how the school has become better for our students and families. When I come there to visit my child's class, the school is clean, orderly, and teachers are in their rooms teaching, exactly how a school should be! When my other child was in a near by middle school, the children were always in the halls being loud rude and disorderly, that Principal was fired, it not like that at Clinton Grove. I'm sure the principal had an impact on this, NOT JUST the teachers! EVERY time I visit Clinton Grove it is a pleasant experience! The staff and PRINCIPAL are always pleasant and willing to go above and beyond! Seems like the negative posters are the ones attempting to throw her under the bus, when you do this, you throw the school under the bus too, including my child! Not gonna happen! My suggestion is that you leave the school, so the principal can get some more positive helpful teachers/parents that will work with her, rather than attacking her for having high standards and expectations! Negative post = Negative person with low expectations! She is NOT there to make friends, she's there to ensure children are safe and succeed academically! I can only imagine how the principal is being treated, my goodness! Take a moment to look at yourself in the mirror!

Current principal is running The Grove into the ground. This school year will be her third, each year bringing high staff turnover and the lowest moral in decades because of her management (sometimes lack thereof and sometimes micromanagement). For reference, in her first year she dismantled the PTA and drove out approximately 60% of the staff. The school has gotten a reputation for having students that "run the school" because of the inconsistently enforced rules and total lack of support. The majority of staff fear or despise her- which has created a terrible environment for the education of children. The Grove's children deserve better. For a quality education, send your child elsewhere until the county wises up and "relocates" this principal.

This school is extremely disorganized and sends out information at the last minute and then acts unprofessionally to any visitors or parents that may have the misfortune of coming by. While I like kids having some degree of freedom and fun, lack of discipline is unforgivable. And to the comment from December 05, 2013 below me is a student. Copy pasting from their review: .Your kids probably won't be bullied there unless there is a given reason. ^^^^ Friendly reminder that this is a student, and if not, some overbearing teacher who was forced to write a review for the school. "Won't be bullied unless there is a given reason." UNLESS THERE IS A GIVEN REASON. ///IF ANY SORT OF STUDENT WROTE THIS, YOU SEE WHAT KIND OF ENVIRONMENT OR HOME LIFE THEY HAVE. IF THAT DOESN'T SAY SOMETHING ABOUT CLINTON GROVE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT DOES./// (yeah sonny kinda shot yourself in foot there lol don't feed the trolls.)

I am very unhappy with this school and the only reason why I won't transfer my son is because he has created a lot of friends. The school sends most documents last minute or with very little notice. By the time my daughter is ready for school, I will be enrolling her in a different school.
