Please don’t send your child to this school. This school is a playground for the teachers they are rude and act like it’s a problem when ask about your child. This school needs to be replaced with teachers who cares.

Esta escuela es la peor los alumnos tienen sexo dentro de la escuela hay mucha droga dentro de la instalación los maestros y todo el personal son incapaz de mantener la seguridad. De los alumnos también en carne propia evivido la descriminacion como me arrepiento de vivir en esta zona las escuelas en si son de lo peor ninguno de todo el personal en esta escuela está capacitado para poder Controlar la discriminación realmente no recomiendo a friendly higth school

I was a former student and graduated not that long ago. This school really deserved the ratings it receives. If you look at the reviews posted by the students, you can see how well they are being taught. This school does not have a lot of math and science classes. So if you want a school that reinforce math and science, this isn't one of them. Many of the students there struggle with basic algebra. I was one of the student who wanted to take all the math and science classes and basically did. I ran out of classes that I have to take electives and humanity courses which are very opinionated. The AP classes were a joke too, a majority of the students in AP don't deserve to be there. There are some teachers that are great but a majority of the left after I graduated. Being valedictorian or salutatorian doesn't mean a thing seeing as you can easily get good grades by talking to the teacher if your behavior was good in class. You also can easily avoid taking hard classes to "raise" your GPA.

Am currently a senior at friendly high school, I was enrolled at Friendly in early 2013 just mids of Junior year. I moved from Northside high school in Renoke Virginia, were grades are super important and if you do not meet an average of 3.1 GPA then you were considered a 'Slow student" teachers would help only because testing was highly demanding. When I arrived at friendly the first thing I notice was the grading and work was in my words "Easy' everything from homework,test,quiz, lesson plans, class work..ect was things I learned as a freshman. I came from an up tight super challenging school. All I have to say is the school or teachers do not challenge students at all , put no effort in making class hard or productive. I now have a GPA of 4.8 with little to no work done.. I feel as I am not preparing for college....upside to his teachers are friendly huh. School is small, everyone knows everyone. I do wish for future students to get a better education.

I am surpirsed that no one is complaining about the serious lack of diversity at this school! It's very low, which is of coure not the best for the students!

My son currently attends Friendly High School in Fort Washington, MD. My oldest son was 2011 valedictorian and my daughter was 2012 valedictorian.

This school is really part of a larger narrative as to the state of education in Prince Georges County. It is a shame that possibly the most wealthy minority-majority counties in the entire country has an education system in total disarray. Less informed individuals can place the focal point of blame to any number of sources: teachers, parents, funding, accessibility to resources, society and peer cultural pressures. And there are others that have allowed themselves to delude themselves into believing that none of the problems that create Friendly's current situation can be overcome by overcompensating in any one of those aforementioned points (i.e. "Better parenting at home will lead to better students!"). It will take a systematic change in all areas to truly affect real change for Friendly and by extension the PG School system. As a parent, what does this mean? Don't send your kids here even if you think you can keep your kids on the right track. At the very best, you would be limiting your children from reaching their full potential that they would realize in school systems with superior educational environments.

It's so sad to hear that Friendly has dropped in the education of students. I graduated from Friendly in 1975. It was an excellent high school back then. I hope things improve for the school, and soon.
