Worst school allows bullying and kids being targeted because they are new

Amazing teachers, staff, resources, and parents volunteer like crazy here. Excellent educational opportunities, too. Strong safety measures in place.

This is an amazing school. Everyone is so involved and the teachers are amazing. I have 2 students here and the school although presented with challenges with the growing number of homes being built in the area, they have managed it well and to the best of their ability. We originally decided to build nearby because of this school and we have never regretted it. The current principal has been amazing and her team has made Winterpock a great school to be apart of. Thank you to everyone for your dedication and hard work, it doesnt go unnoticed and we appreciate it more then you know.

This is not the school's fault but this is a high grow area for new homes. This poor school is relatively new but overwhelmed with an influx of new students. The staff and teachers do their best but they have run out of room. In the fall of 2023, a new school will open nearby to reduce the overcrowding. Even with class sizes of 25 or more, the students get a high quality education. However, their playground is now filled with trailers to deal with the overflow of students which makes recess challenging to say the least. I expect this school will return to its full glory in 2023 when the over crowding is alleviated and the trailers are removed.

Only school my kids have ever attended where parents have to race to volunteer! If you don't sign up quickly, its too late. Parents are really involved here. My rising third grader, who moved here at the start of second grade, loves this school and appears to be blossoming. His second grade teacher was awesome and he is looking forward to third grade

Winterpock Elementary is a relatively new school where new home communities surrounding the school are pushing the classroom sizes to 29+ which really isn't condusive to learning. Additionally, Winterpock is the feeder school for the Center Based Gifted students and those classes are filled to capacity as well. I would have to agree that there is one member of the front office staff that is rather abrasive and doesn't seem willing to travel any distance to help. Curriculum is decent but from our families perspective not overly challenging. Spanish class is part of the core curriculum- even for the children in Kindergarten which is wonderful. Principal Cooper has proven herself as a dedicated, compassionate professional who is known to sit down with the parents to listen to concerns and help resolve issues. If you are transferring, be prepared to have your child sit out a year from gifted services irregardless of your childs test scores at Winterpock upon entrance. On their website, they report to considering exception for those coming from a gifted program, but this is NOT the case. BOB is offered, running club, safety patrol, after school programs, etc. A+ teachers!

This school is absolutely amazing. The program for gifted children to excel is awesome! My child needs to be challenged and has been satisfied in her learning. The school does not lack in a social aspect either. Plenty of opportunities here! The teachers are great! They love the kids and their jobs. I can't say enough positive things about this school!

The school is great, excellent staff, nice kids, PTA is doing a good job, beatiful location surrounded by trees, good infraestructure, neat and clean, nice cafeteria. I am glad my kid attends this school.

This was the first year that my son attended Winterpock Elementary. I Ioved how his teacher took time with him to recognize his individual needs. My only "gripe" with the school is the office staff. EVERY time I would pick him up, they were not personable, like I was bothering them. That is the first impression you see when you visit so there needs to be an adjustment.

Winterpock is a close-knit community school. There are a large amount of moms and dads who volunteer regularly. We have been so thrilled with our experience for all 3 of our kids. There are great enrichment courses offered, clubs, and plenty of PTA sponsored activities. One great bonus is WES is the home school for the Center Based Gifted program (CBG) So if your child is a part of this program which starts in 3rd grade they don;t have to switch schools. WES is one of the newest elementary buildings and is not overcrowded and has no trailers. We couldn't be happier with our experience.

I have two sons (4th and 2nd) at WES who have been there since K. The school is terrific. The teachers are involved and the parents and PTA always have something going on (sometimes to the tune of - really, another fund raiser?) Spanish classes are given weekly so the kids start learning a 2nd language early. The gifted program is incredible - especially Mrs. Zyglocke for the 3rd grade. Expectations for the kids are high, which is good, but the teachers focus on working with the kids at their levels. Cons to the school are that it is huge - I believe they have around 700 kids now and 900 is capacity. There also is not a lot of ethnic diversity for such a large school and in such a diverse region of the state. The class sizes are large - having 28 kids in a class is not uncommon. And parents of children with food allergies have expressed their concern that the school is not strict enough. However, the school has made a push to keep food out of the classroom this year. Winterpock is a great school and my kids love going there.

Winterpock is truly a one of a kind school. It is a small town school in an area where the neighborhoods are large and families are busy. However, you don't feel like your kids are a just a number at this school. Teachers go above and beyond what is expected of them and really try to help each student achieve his or her highest potential. One helpful bit of advice for new families coming to this school is to arrive early to school functions so you can get a seat! School functions and events are always packed!

We have been extremely pleased with the education our son has received thus far. He has had 2 wonderful teachers (K and 1st grade) who have worked closely with us in monitoring his progress. The school administration does an excellent job of informing us of upcoming events via parent link as well as information in his take home folder. Winterpock ES is an extremely well-run school. We are also pleased with the PTA and grade level programs Winterpock puts on throughout the year. Although it is a new school and still working on building a sense of "school family" and "identity" it is making great strides in these areas. I would not send my son (or his younger brother) to any other school in Chesterfield..

This is a wonderful school with dedicated teachers and involved parents. We are fortunate to have a very high PTA membership rate and an incredible amount of parental assistance. Because of this our children benefit greatly. This is the best school my children have ever attended and we are proud to be part of the Winterpock family.

Probably the best all around elementary school in the area. Teachers are great and students are scoring extremely high in all areas.

Pros: School basically services Hampton Park subdivision and a couple of tertiary housing developments that are close to Hampton Park. The school is very new. The teachers are great. Class sizes are getting to be large. My 6 year old is in a class of 28 and my 10 year old is in a class of 26. Cons: Some might consider this a minor irritation, but as a new family to this school, its critically important -- as the first impression and all events for those first few days in a new school are largely dealing with front office workers. This team of individuals is comprised of 3 members, 2 of which are ridiculously poor fits for the roles that they are in. No customer service skills to their name; abrasive and leave you with the impression that you've completely put them out of their way for the simplest task.
