My son graduated from here in 2022 and 2 of my kids graduated in 2019 and 2020. There are a few excellent teachers, however the leadership and communication from the Principal is subpar. Keep in mind, my kids were not troublesome. One of my children received special services from the county and she came to me to make me aware that the specific special needs teacher she was working with was making unauthorized recordings of the students behavior and using it for a side business without permission. When I brought to the Principal's attention she was painstakingly slow to investigate and react and instead left it up to my child and I to provide the burden of proof before she finally investigated and discovered we were telling the truth. Another incident is when my son went to her with a legitimate issue that a teacher advised him to go to her about, she completely dismissed him! He came home and made me aware and it wasn't until I had to reach out to her that she actually took him seriously. Eventually she apologized to him with the excuse of her being so busy that she didn't realize she was being dismissive. There have been other experiences, which have formed my opinions as well, but there simply isn't enough time or space to elaborate.

My child graduated this year and he left with excellent grades. The school need a little refurbishing, but overall great academically.

If you have minority kids. I would go to another school system. CCPS has many different rules and clearly can't handle each case the right way. I've seen how they handle Black accusation by white females. Always will punish the minorities first, even once found that it is not true. They also do the same with their teachers. Plenty of teachers have been accused, but only the minority ones get fired. They also withhold interviews they did and doesn't put it in any paperwork. They will interview your kids without permission and not contact you at all. Again I state if you have minority kids please take them to a different school system.

My daughter came here from Colorado, and her transition has been smooth. She is a special needs student send had had great support from all her teachers. She is excited to enter the graphic arts program next year through the tech center.

Overall I have had a good experience. Out of the 3 high schools I’ve been to this is my favorite.

Terrible, I’ve always had A’s and B’s and I couldn’t get any help since teachers were busy and there were always fights and people cussing in the hallways

Son just finished his freshman year and the teachers absolutely helped him with the transition from jr high. Sports program is great .. strongly supported school spirit. I think so far it’s been a great experience..

This school should be giving me monthly payments for the rest of my life for what they did.

My daughter has been going to Manchester Highschool for all four of her years. She can come home happy as can be, or she can come home feeling crushed and defeated by the curiculum that she is being taught. However, every day she comes home with what seems like something being taken away from her. She does not have the creativity, nor the motivation she once used to have. She has good days or bad days, but almost every day she comes home telling me about the opinions her teachers have given her during class and how they constantly try to change her political views. The teachers are very biased and prejudice. If the teacher is black then they will favor black students. If the teacher is liberal, they will favor the students with the most liberal mindset. If the teacher is a white female, then they tend to favor the students most like themselves. My daughter is a white female and is considered as an outcast towards the majority of the suburban society that has been formed. Just because she does not act and learn like everyone else, she is labeled "dumb" and "incompetent" by both the teachers and the students. She has found friends that are close to her age group and share similar interests, however the school treats them the same way as well. It's like the school uses a "Survival of the fittest" hospitality and anyone who doesn't make it will crumble hard and fast.

I give it four stars because I honestly got very bored my last two years there, but that's probably just a personal thing. Mr. Koste is the best, and we're all sad to see him go. The years I went we had a lot of deaths in our community, so it made us all really close. I was a part of the mass communications specialty center. I really wasn't fond of the teachers, but the skills I learned have proved valuable in my job today.

Handful of teachers are great. The majority will sit back and watch your child fail. They do not update edline for 3-4 weeks and once the parent knows whats happening, its too late to do anything about it. Their response is "it's on edline", but it's a month old. One teacher literally posted 6 assignments for the whole 9 weeks at the end of term. How are you teaching a core class with only 6 assignments for the whole term? The afterschool programs are a joke because school is out at 1:50, afterschool activities are over at 3:00, but there is no transportation. Working parents aren't available until 5 at the earliest so my kids have never benefited without disrupting the business day. I'm just waiting for my oldest to graduate so that we can move to a better school district.

As a parent at Manchester I have nothing but good to say. The staff and adminstrators have been TOP in directing my son's education. We have yet to find a teacher that isn't genuinely interested in his future. The school is a wonderful microcosm of the real world, a diverse student population and a large array of activities. The administration is very supportive of all school activities, attending games, plays and concerts. You can tell they truly have pride in their students and school. Please keep in mind, ALL high schools have "issues" - by nature of dealing with teenagers there will be fights and drama. Mancester is no different, but is by no means a "problem". As well as, all schools want and NEED better parent involvement, but unfortuately some families do not have that as an option with their only responsibilities. MHS does however extend multiple chances for the parents to be able to jump in and help out. I have enjoyed my time being a Lancer mom and I know my son loves his school.
