Our daughter has a rare genetic disorder which CMS was neither willing to understand nor accommodate. Philip's Academy goes above and beyond to help our daughter succeed. We can't be more thankful to be a part of it!

Philips academy is wonderful. My child is so happy to go to school each day. The children all really care about each other. The staff has the perfect balance of compassion and discipline. The teachers are beyond terrific, they truly love what they do. My child is learning how to succeed in the real world, learning real life skills. There is no other school like Philips in Charlotte or the surrounding area.

My son has been at this school for four years. He has thrived here after struggling with other school settings. He has a intellectual disorder. The staff, and small size has allowed him a big opportunity for success. We moved from SC to Charlotte, NC so he go attend this wonderful school.

When our son started Philips Academy, we were at a loss as to how we could best meet his complicated educational needs. We had already battled through public school, and a private school especially designed for learning disabilities no longer wanted students with complexities such as his. PA offered a 5:1 student-teacher ratio as well as an individualized education plan. Our son could move at his own pace with teacher assistance to ensure he understood the material before moving on. In this family of outstanding, caring staff and students who, like our son, had learning needs not adequately met in other settings, our son blossomed. He's exceeded goals we weren't sure he would reach. He's benefited from an education that applies principles to real life and teaches independence. He's participated in community service and learned from working real jobs. PA meets NC standards for graduation, and he's received his High School Diploma. He is currently in his second year of PA's Bridges program and is in residential training, learning life skills such as meal planning, budgeting and time management while living away from home, working, and attending class at a community college.

I am a parent of a student who has been a student since 2008. Since my child started attending Philips Academy he has learned so much in a special settings that helps children with learning disabilities succeed. It also is a great school because it focuses on Life Skills which will help your child succeed in life after graduation. I am pleased with how much my son has learned and his self confidence since starting at Philips Academy has improved and he would not be the young man he is today if it was not for the assistance our family received from Philips Academy wonderful staff. The staff at Philips Academy care about seeing the children succeed and make progress that will help them succeed after they leave Philips Academy. Again, Philips Academy has really been a great partner for the past few years in helping our son learn in a special way that enables him to be and become a vital person in our community. Please if you have a special needs child consider having your child attend Philips Academy it will be a life changing experience for you and your child.
