The staff is severely incompetent and the principal has a highly inflated ego. If your child does not fit the socio-economic status of the neighborhood or has any special needs, I would strongly recommend finding a charter or private school. My child entered this school above grade level and with very positive accolades from the previous school. My child fell significantly behind academically, socially and emotionally. The staff treats certain students unfairly and falsely documents incidents to cover themselves (this includes leaving marks on your child and improper use of restraints). Do not waste your time and energy with this school. The damage the staff has caused my child has cost us thousands of dollars in therapy and more hours away from work than we can count. As parents, we could not have been more involved and responsive. They are not equipped to handle all children. Another SAD CMS school!

My daughter has been attending this school since the 3rd grade(now in the 5th) and she has enjoyed it immensely! The faculty and staff are attentive, the curriculum(while still based on CMS metrics) are presented in a challenging way, there are TONS of parental involvement and consistent activities planned for students and parents alike, and many extracurricular activities to choose from, both in-school AND out - I only wish they had a middle school so we wouldn't have to leave so soon!

Our daughter had a great experience at Eastover and now our son is there doing well. A gem of a school. A beautiful historic, neighborhood school. The smallest school in CMS and very supportive and involved parents.

Our son has attended this school for 2nd & 3rd grade. We are thrilled with the school. We chose this school because of the uniforms and chess cirriculum, but we love the teachers and parent involvement as well. It is really a sense of community which allows these kids to thrive academically.
