We have a new principal this year but overall I have been very impressed with her plans and what’s to come. The building is spotless, she’s cleaned up common areas that needed it, and most importantly she’s made very intentional decisions about new hires. IMO some teachers from the past few years were just coasting and were allowed to do so since they were a warm adult body. I also didn’t like how some student behavior was dismissed because he/she was an athlete. Time to bring back academics first - sports are not the priority at a IB school. Good things are coming!

The school overall is horrible and every teacher picks on the students even if it is indirect the cleanliness is a 0/10 and the administrators never do their job and they only focus on the least of their problems.

I love my teachers i just feel that the administration is lacking we are receiving a new principal so that should change soon.

Overall, not a great school. Many of the teachers are very nice, however, some are not so, and the learning environment is unbelievably terrible. RMS says they will take action about bullying and other major things, but the counselors only take action on the little things, for example throwing an orange peel at a student and skirts 1 nanometer too short. Also, the Special Education programs (E.G. Extensions and Horizons) are treated terribly, and they only think about the IB Majority. Many of the faculty blame the students and teachers for a lot of this, but in reality, it is mostly the school's fault.

Title: A Complete Disaster - 1 Star Review for [Randolph Middle]Review:Where do I even begin? My experience at [RMS] was an absolute nightmare. I cannot stress enough how terrible this institution truly is. From the moment I stepped foot on campus, I could tell that things were not going to go well.First and foremost, the facilities at [RMS] are extremely outdated and in desperate need of renovation. The classrooms are cramped and uncomfortable, making it nearly impossible to focus on learning. The lack of proper ventilation only added to the claustrophobic atmosphere, leading to constant distractions and an overall unpleasant experience.The quality of education at [RMS] is abysmal. The majority of the teachers are disinterested and uninspiring. It felt as though they were simply going through the motions, without any genuine passion or desire to educate. The curriculum itself is outdated and fails to keep up with the ever-changing demands of the modern world. It's no wonder that graduates from this school struggle to find success in the real world.Moreover, the administration at [RMS] is completely incompetent. They are unresponsive to the needs and concerns of students, often neglecting to address important issues. The lack of communication and transparency is utterly frustrating. It's as if they have no interest in creating a supportive and nurturing environment for students.The overall atmosphere and culture at [RMS] are toxic. Bullying and discrimination are prevalent, with little to no intervention from the faculty. It's disheartening to witness such a complete disregard for the well-being of students. The lack of extracurricular activities and opportunities outside of the classroom only exacerbates the negative environment.To summarize, [RMS] is a complete disaster. The outdated facilities, uninspiring teachers, incompetent administration, and toxic atmosphere make it an institution that should be avoided at all costs. As a student who endured the misfortune of attending this school, I strongly urge parents and students to consider alternatives for a better education and overall experience elsewhere.

We have (overall) been very happy with RMS. There is a good homework/life balance and in most classes the students are given an opportunity to do the work in class, homework is just what is unfinished. The teachers my student has are engaged and are passionate about their subject and they all get that humor needs to be injected throughout the day, because, well, it's middle school. The admin team is responsive and available. I cannot recall a time, honestly, when I had a question that wasn't addressed. Same with school counselors, they're very responsive and will help navigate SEL issues, class change requests, conferences, etc. The initiated in school clubs this year so that EVERY child has an opportunity to participate in clubs during the school day, which eliminated the transportation barrier that many have to before or after school clubs. The PTO is active, engaged, and supportive and there are many volunteer opportunities to get involved. My only wish for Randolph is that they were considered for a new building. The campus is huge, and they've done the best with what they have (that's a CMS issue, not RMS), but parts of the school are aging and in need of improvements.

Randolph has really declined in 2021-22. There are still pockets of the school which are strong. However, the overall learning environment has been poor with little enforcement of rules leading to high levels of student misbehavior and disrespect toward teachers. Academic standards continue to be lowered to ensure students test reasonably well and pass courses. However, strong academic learning is low except for some classes which are filled with stronger students. The new 21-22 administration has not been effective. There is potential for Randolph but it needs a big turnaround in student behavior, learning environment, and support for teachers.

Constant fights every week, Teachers forced to break it up. Overall Safety issues entirely for the students against each other. one week they can be friends the next they would start throwing hands at each other. also apparently students have been bringing "weed" into the school and using it in areas where teachers can see also vapes are a big thing too.

I had an amazing time at randolph. I felt like i was always included in activities around the school. Randolph has a number of amazing clubs that spark an interest for almost anyone. I was student council president for my 8th grade year. There's clubs from Soccer to anime and Show choir to GSA. The sports are ok. Most of our teams are really good at what they do. The classes can be challenging if that's what you're looking for. As long as you stay focused, you'll do great!

This is my son second year and he loves it. He is happy and doing really well at Randolph. I am so glad that he is enjoying his middle years there. He is also a straight A's student and also taking high school math. I am very proud of him and all the hard work he puts in at this school. If your child willing to work hard, he or she will excel at Randolph Middle. Wish they have Boys Tennis so my son can join. Overall, this school is great and all the teachers are great! Maybe, a lil remodeling would be great because the school is really old. Other than that, I am happy and my child is happy. Thank you!

This school is fairly nice overall. I have friends, nice teachers, and easy work but at this school there is SO much to improve on. The only things being taught are math, reading and what not, not respect and core values. The principal is distant and doesn't make many appearances. It is overcrowded and the work isn't challenging. (This is just from my 6th grade experience so far).

I made some great friends and had some great teachers but the bad kids ruin it for everyone. My brother went to Carmel middle school and we all thought RMS would be so much better but really Carmel was so much better because no fighting and kids paid attention, according to my brother. We moved here from another state where schools were very different. It's weird how school leaders and the people who aren't teachers but work in offices watch tv all day while they do their jobs. I saw this at Carmel and RMS and it's weird.

5 out of 10. Great for the IB classes, awful for non-IB, bad for what they had to listen to in the lunchroom with no options to move seats, awful for disrespectful students, awful for teachers who have to SCREAM to get order in a classroom, awful for how bad behavior is tolerated. I don't have the answer to this problem, because what do you do with the kids who don't care? If you ignore them, then they grow up as burdens on society. If you fail them, you have to deal with them again because parents don't care either. Can there be a separate school for kids who are so disrespectful and have no home support? Can't ignore these problem kids but it's also not fair to inflict them on other students and teachers.
