Very poor rating in terms of their autism class. The teacher seamed like she did not know how to teach a classroom let alone autistic children. She was also very discouraging to the students. The Autism class also exceeded the usual number of students in the classroom. The leadership made up for it by placing individuals to help but seemed like they were not expienced with working with autistic children.

Mrs. Cox has a wonderful rapport with people of all ages, especially children. Her ability to connect with her students and her talent at teaching simple concepts, as well as more advanced topics. Mrs Cox has excellent written and verbal communication skills, She is extremely organized, reliable and knowledgeable . Principal leadership, quality teachers and great staff and supervision. Please visit Leapwood Elementary a wonderful school.

Leapwood is so awesome I love it! The teachers are awesome my favorite is Mr. ratcliffe! There fights sometimes and usually they are pretty bad! But as a student I had only a few bad experiences. I have never regretted going to school. I miss that school so much and I would suggest it to anyone. But there is alot of bad language. In around 4th grade I didn't feel smart but in 5th I was one of the top students in my class. I had the best teacher ever!!!! His name was Mr.Ratcliffe. He made me feel so smart and I had so much confidence. Sadly he won't be back for 2013. But the one thing I do recommend, bring your on lunches. The food is gross. And I want a new principle. The current one is not very good. One day some kid kept calling me names and I was NOT is the mood. I told her, and she says"can't you see I'm talking, you need to be respectful and wait". She is so annoying. And she talks to much and waste time. There is not exactly bullying but there is BAD name calling. There is also a lot of inappropriate language. I had a great experience at leap wood elementary. The school has it's flaws. Overall its a pretty good school and no doubt, I would recommend it to anyone. I love it!!

They say high school is the best four years of your life, with college/university being your best experiences. While I m not arguing with that, being now that I'm 22, looking back, my five years attending Leadwood Elementary, I can honestly say are some of my best school years and memories. Now that I m studying to become an elementary school teacher when I was told that in classroom volunteer hours were needed; I immediately remember my first grade teacher: Mrs. Martin, career day, the activities that were held in the auditorium, my old friends and classrooms, and this school was my first chose to dedicate my time. As a child I loved waking up to go to school and now as a 22 year old woman I still have nothing but faun memories of my years at this school.

My child attended Leapwood and had a GREAT experience I was and still is very happy with the school. I also, volunteer. Parents, Teachers and the Principal must all work together in a positive manner to accomplish what is needed.Test scores are increasing each year. Good things are happening at Leapwood Mrs. Hudley the Principal is dedicated and works very hard to make Leapwood the best school. Schools need more volunteers."Together we can achieve more"

Great school. I would go there if I was a kid again. Don't just look at test scores. Look at how the teaching staff are working to educate the students.

I attended Leapwood 20 years ago and wanted my children to have the same great experience there that I had; I was sadly mistaken. The principal has a horrible attitude, bullying is allowed without consequence, there is really no incentives for the children to excel. Mrs. Hearvey as well as Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Cox and a few other teachers are an exception to the Leapwood staff; but overall this school is a sad representation of our community. My children have since been pulled out. I believe with a different leader the school and students would have a much better chance. THEY REALLY NEED TO LOOK INTO A NEW PRINCIPAL.

This school has gone downhill since my children started there a few years ago the principle attitude has changed for the worse and some of the teachers need to be relaced r realize they are teaching children not adults but they also have a handful of wonderful teachers Cox,Benbow,Brown,Steward.Ratcliff if your child is lucky to get into there class it will be wonderful if not good luck. also it doesnt help the new offce aid can barely assit you.

I don't know how this school is today, but when my child attended, they let him go home with the wrong person and when I asked the teacher where my four yaer old was, she told me " I thought he went home with you." After switching him out of that teachers class the other teacher punished my four year old for coloring a duck blue by embarassing him in front of his peers and then taking his recess away. I hope this school has envovled since then, I didn't wait around to find out.

Not happy with the school anymore. A huge decline from when my oldest son attended 4-5 years ago. Some of the staff is still really great but overall there has been a huge decline. I don't know if this is because of the budget or what but its horrible. New school next year.

I pulled my child out of Leapwood this year. Too much turmoil and chaos between staff, teachers, administration and parents! Most teachers aren't committed to the children just their union contract. Poor report card scores and test results because they aren't sticking to the business of TEACHING.
