I was a former student at this elementary school a while ago. The teachers at Del Amo are very supportive and encourage their students to learn. I must say I had a great time and I learned a lot from that school. I suggest any children around the area go to this elementary, it’s worth it.

Del Amo Elementary has supported my child throughout their elementary school. I encourage young children to enroll into this inclusive and supportive environment! Not only has Del Amo provided great learning opportunities, it also is very professional when it comes to treating others fairly! Overall, Del Amo Elementary School is a great place to learn!

The teachers are awesome but the office staff and the principal are very rude. They halfway speak and the principle don't speak at all. she has a nasty vibe/attitude to deal with the public. However, from kinder to second grade my child's teachers are the best and so is the after school program. Thanks you guys.

I recently got a substitute teacher assignment at this school. I've been subbing for quite a few years and I've always been hesitant to go there because some of the other ones in this area are awful. I was pleasantly surprised because I was expecting the worst: loud, disrespectful students and general chaos. I got excellent coffee in the cafeteria offered to me by the congenial gentleman in charge. The office staff were pleasant. It was obvious that everyone was making an effort to create a good learning environment. One of the most important factors that makes this school great is that it is small. Small schools with less crowding make for a calmer, quieter environment that leads to better student outcomes. The one drawback to this school is that it is downwind from refinery pollution, which is very worrisome. It smelled of gasoline. And depending on the wind direction, it is also directly upwind from the very significant pollution from the L.A. Harbor, so I could never work at this school full-time because of the pollution. It's not a safe environment.
