I applied this year (2022) as my first choice high school to this high school but was waitlisted at the school for any reason that I know of and I don’t have the patience to wait for an seat or wait for another year to get into the school. I should have gotten into Sunset Park high school but I didn’t get it. The only redeeming thing is that I have friends who are going there starting next year but I don’t know if I will be seeing them or now. The waitlist of the school is ineffective and very slow.

It's a good school and all, my daughter graduated out of there. My son is there he has 1 year left there . I feel that there should be more parent involvement and I think that they should have metal detectors, I have always said that since they opened the school. I don't think the kids wanna be checked by either the cops cause now they feel like they did something wrong or by the safety agents that's a little too much too many kids to check, it's just to be on the safe side. Other than that the school is good the teachers are amazing so is the principal, oh and also I would like to know why is the school being taught only one language kids wanna learn other languages besides Spanish.

Teachers are very supportive. They are always contacting parents and making sure that every student gets their education. They are always available for tutoring, whether it's before the school day starts, during lunch, or after school. They always have Saturday Academy at least one month before the NYS Regents for Regents Prep. Security guards, deans, and other staff members are always walking down the hallways making sure students head to their next class on time. This schools offers a different variety of after school programs that helps keep students occupied. Sunset Park High Schools allows students to take college courses as high school students. They also have many sports teams like for boys they have: Baseball (A NEW TEAM), Badminton, Soccer, Basketball, & Wrestling. For Girls they have: Badminton, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Softball, & Wrestling. A huge advantage of this school is that it's brand NEW! This is an excellent school for any student!!

Sunset Park has outstanding teachers and staff who are truly committed to helping all students achieve as much as they can! Teachers are energetic and enthusiastic, finding the strengths and gifts in all of their students-- they are creative in how they approach topics and challenge students to go a bit farther and really grow in their abilities! My daughter successfully transitioned from a private special ed setting to Sunset Park and by the end of junior year, was fully integrated into the general ed classroom, had a high GPA, and was accepted to 7/8 of colleges she applied to, several with great academic scholarships! She worked hard, but the outstanding support of her teachers, school officials, and Principal Vinal really helped her to succeed!! Thank you Sunset Park!!!

I love the school environment at this school. The small learning communties allow for strong bonds between students and teachers. Inquiry based instruction is at the heart of teaching andconcepts aremade relevant to students' lives. The principal is a strong leader who invests much time and effort to student success. The same can be said about the whole staff. Teachers are invited to be a part of major school decisions, allowing for the best possible education for children. Teachers at this school deservemuch thanks for all their hard work and dedication! The teachers here all highly knowledgeable in their content area as well as enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with students of all skills and abilities. It is an honor to be a part of such a great school community where everyone shares a common goal.
