This school has improved so much over the past years. The leadership is more organized. Yes, great teachers leave but the school has managed to maintain good academic standards and hire other good teachers. There are dedicated counselors for parents and students. Everybody knows each other. The high school is amazing with their extra curricula's and the girls get to express and develop their leadership qualities more than they would in a mixed school setting, we are informed about the school wide events through our socials and ClassDojo. My daughter is in elementary and she loves her teachers and even the high school staff! It feels like a small community.

As a parent, I can say this school made a huge difference in my child's life. I found teachers that genuinely care about the students, they are quick to reach out if there is a concern and always responsive. No school is perfect, whether it's public or private, but at least you can go directly to the school and work out any matters of concern. Recently a relative left the school to attend a public school. When the counselor saw the classes, she took in her sophomore year at Alnoor, the counselor stated, "You are more advanced than we are and well ahead of your peers." This is coming from a public school counselor, with unlimited funding and resources. Any deficiency in Alnoor can be remedied by some additional tutoring. I can also say, my kids needed tutoring even while in public school. Kids become a statistic in public schools, not a student. A word of advice from a parent to all parents. Children will learn English and math anywhere, but being surrounded by prayer during the course of the day and reminders of their religion throughout the school year will set the stage for their lives. This is a sincere truthful review from a parent of students in private and public schools. I hope this is helpful.

As an alumni who has been in this school for 8 years and graduated as well, this school has definitely improved over the years but still lack several attributes it needs to be considered a good school. The teachers generally care about their students which is a good thing, and the academics are up to par with the nation's academic success. However, the environment could use some fixing as subtle racism is present. The students would sometimes take pride over where they are from, which is not a bad thing necessaily, but to look down at others and fight about nationality is a serious issue that occurs at this school. The teachers would choose favorites too and sometimes a bit unfairness can occur too. Overall this school has good academics but isn't environment friendly. Religious wise, the school is adequate enough to teach the basics of deen but could use better methods of instilling understanding of the deen in the students.

As a parent, I can say there are many problems at this school. The administration is not willing to address most of them. Seems to be the best alternative in a very poor inner-city selection of Islamic schools. Overpriced and no transparency. Think twice before sending your child there.

Best Islamic school in Brooklyn, also the oldest. Prestige in Islamic learning alongside feeling like you are apart of a family. Facilities need some love but otherwise it's great!

The Arabic teachers teach in Arabic. The Quranic classes are taught by scholars. There is a 100% placement for graduating seniors into colleges.

Absolutely love this school. My daughter just started pre-k this year and can already say the alphabet, sing Islamic songs, as well as speak new Arabic words we don't use at home. The teacher's are thoughful and caring, breakfast and lunch are fresh. My child is excited to start her day knowing she's going to school here. She is not forced to be veiled at a young age, and the teacher's are understanding of the various conservativeness of the parents. The administrative staff is VERY understanding and not hounding either. Homework is fun, and not difficult but instead allows the child to use what they learned at school to independently complete the task alone at home--or at least this is the case with my daughter. The teacher's first language is Arabic, although one of the focuses in the classroom is an English class. My child comes home with Arabic, English and simple math homework that she enjoys doing and remembers practicing during the day. I am absolutely thrilled she is apart of this school!
