Bad school and the administration removing posts doesn’t make the school better. You know how bad it is if you keep removing posts. DOE finally knows it too !

Excellent. PS24 welcomes patents and students with many opportunities including Chess Club, Game Night and Mommy and Me books clubs where dads are welcome too.

It has a really good environment for the kids, it does a GREAT job on preparing the kids for middle school. And, teachers and staff make the kids feel safe in school.

I'm grateful that PS 24 is a school where my daughter feels safe. A safe enviorenment is necessary for growth and learning. However, when it comes to accademics I find that the school is not as rigorous as it should be. I wish that they were to best equip our children in the tools necessary for success.

Curriculum is useless. Some teachers show no effort. Security non existent. Recess time is like a free for all, kids running around hitting each other. Transferring my kids.

Administration awful. Not the principal or Secretary.Everyone else is focused on gossip. The curriculum awful. They really need to focus more on the children and stop worrying about other things.

I pulled my son out of the program because I felt he was having a hard time with reading and writing in both languages and figured he should focus on his English which is his main language. Switching him only made me more aware that it's the curriculum the school goes by that DOESN'T MAKE SENSE! Children are sent home with homework of lessons they haven't learned yet. What about the lesson they learned that day? Also, there are NO RECOMMENDATIONS on books, or strategies on preparing the children for the state exams! Did I mention they aren't allowed to bring their workbooks home to help with their homework? This just doesn't make any sense to me. I was told my son was in jeopardy of getting left behind 2 months before the state exam. The amount of teacher/parent communication before this point was ZERO!!! Why was I told at the end point and not when the child first showed signs of not meeting grade level expectations?!!? Overall I am VERY disappointed in the way this school 1. teaches and 2. Parent/Teacher communications. No child left behind is something most parents have raved about with this school. I guess the new Principal has her own way of things.

I love P.S. 24 because it values and appreciates student's diversity and one way they do this is through thier dual language program where they mantain and enrich students first language, Spanish.

Great, loving, bi-lingual school that focuses on social and emotional learning!
