EXCELLENT! Moved here when my daughter was entering 1st grade, and she has had absolutely OUTSTANDING teachers that genuinely care and know what they're doing. Everyone from the Principal Bill Renner, to teachers, to staff, are all amazing and have a fantastic approach on key issues. I could not be happier with this school and my daughter has benefited from their programs and structured curriculum. A+!!

We enrolled at Spencer half way through the school year because we moved from out of state. Everyone was kind and welcoming. My son has an IEP and the staff worked hard to evaluate what he needed. He made a lot of progress before the end of the school year. I had a good experience with the teachers and special education staff. I noticed a review below talks negatively about the principal but she is no longer there - the school's principal is Mr. Renner and he is nice, knowledgeable and approachable. He is often in front of the school in the morning greeting the children by name. I also like all the special experiences that they create for the children throughout the school year (specials day, field day, assemblies, field trips). This is quality education!

This school and the staff are amazing....(except for the principal- she has no patience for anyone or anything) but the rest of the teachers and staff really go out of their way to make up for that....especially Mrs Adams. ...if you ever have a problem or need help I strongly suggest you bypass dealing with the principal ( save yourself the stress and headache) if at all possible try to avoid needing Mrs Williams for anything big or small!!!!! The rest if the school is very aware of her lack of willingness and they really want to help and they want you to leave comforted and confident with your child in their care. Im glad I stuck it out after my first interaction with the principal Mrs Williams. I was ready to enroll my son at Hilton because I just couldn't get over the fact that someone let this women run a school, but after talking with other moms I was directed to find Mrs Adams and she would give me the time of day and they were right she did. ...so much so that my husband and I got her a card and a gift and dropped it off at the office for her. We just couldn't believe how great the rest of the staff was at picking up the pieces after this Mrs Williams women and we couldn't be more greatful!!! The last thing you want is be treated that poorly by someone your supposed to trust with your child ....however Mrs Adams made sure I left that building fully confident and all my concerns were addressed and assured me that I picked the right school for my son . She went above and beyond just like the rest of the staff there so don't let one bad apple ruin this school for you I promise if you can just get passed the principal then you will love this school

This is our fourth year at Spencer Elementary. We are so happy with the education our kids are receiving. The kindergarten program and its teachers are exceptional. The district currently offers both half day and full day options. My kids love their school and have learned what it means to be part of a community. The school has great parental involvement as well. There have also been several updates to the school, including a newly constructed music room, updated security measures, parmetheian boards in all the classrooms, a computer lab with new Macs and iPads in the classrooms. My kids get multiple recesses throughout the day to keep them energized to learn. I love our school!

I absolutely LOVE there Hearing Impaired Program for my son!!! Mrs. Parry is so VERY involved with her kids and we are so blessed to have found this program in our very own county. I wish for many more years for this program in the future!

Excellent School. One of the best in Michigan. The open class concept is innovative and works well for my daughter.
