Unfortunately, this school only cares about money.

So far, we have loved all the teachers, their nurturing approach, and the excellent staff supporting the school. Principal Yates is a man who loves his job and it is reflected in the positive & strong educational environment that Hornung provides. The PTO is doing great things and parent involvement is exceptional!

We love Hornung. My daughter is in 2nd grade and has been in this school since Kindergarten. Aside from academics, the focus on building character and being kind is tremendous. Mr. Yates (principal) is amazing. He's personable, involved, and the kids just adore him. He has a great presence in the school. Our daughter loves going to school here.

We have felt this school is a good nurturing environment for our child. Staff has always been friendly. They put in a new playground that looks like it belongs in a Ninja Warrior Camp. That's great for middle schooler's but very concerning for young aged kids. In other schools we have seen them separate this kind of high climbing equipment from the younger section but I guess this school feels it's ok to have limited staff watching your child while they risk their life on this playground. I just wish they had invested the tax dollars differently because it's only a matter of time before it's considered to be called unsafe and then what?

I'm not sure who gave the school less than 5 stars, but they are nuts. Hornung is a beautiful school, freshly renovated. The playground is amazing. The staff are professional, kind, and totally dedicated to our kids. We just scored in the 98th percentile statewide for academics. The kids still get music, art, and gym. I love this school and Brighton Area Schools in general. Plus, the parents in the community are always volunteering to help in the classrooms and with PTO events.
