This school has struggled to get it's feet off the ground since it opened in Fall 2017. Three Creeks started its 8th school year with its third attempt at finding the right fit of principal. The school culture has never been quite right and they're still trying to define who they are going to be as a school. One has to wonder why this school has struggled so much to find its niche. A few things that might contribute to the challenges faced by this school include the fact that it's a large K-8 that was overcrowded as soon as it opened, it's located in a high socioeconomic area which influences both parent and student dynamics, and the somewhat homogenous group of parents brings certain expectations which are likely hard to manage. The building is new and beautiful, but the school has had to adapt to more students than their building was meant to serve and there are classrooms in every nook and cranny, some of which were initially hall spaces. The large population seems challenging for admin to manage. Seems like there's usually an urgent matter needing tended to at any point in time. It's lacking a close-knit community feel. Certain aspects of daily functioning have made the school feel more like an institution than a warm and inviting place to be. The communication from administration is sparse--not with regards to sending out whole-school emails to let parents as a whole group know what's going on, but with regards to communicating with parents on an individual level.Perhaps the best thing about Three Creeks is the educational aspect, and yet, parents who've had students move up to high school have felt they're not as prepared for high school as students coming from traditional middle schools. In addition, kids on either end of the bell curve don't tend to have their academic needs met as well as the average student. Most parents I know who've taken their kids from Three Creeks have done so because of bullying and/or because their child's academic needs aren't being met. Students with ALPs and IEPs, along with twice-exceptional learners, might have their needs better met at schools with decades of experience working with the "outliers" who have greater educational needs.

Transferred my daughter to this school from the Cheery Creek School District, and realizing now that this was a mistake. I knew the education she would receive here wouldn't be like what she was receiving at CCSD, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. She has learned nothing new. But the bigger issue is the discrimination and the bullying that my daughter has been subjected to with no repercussion from leadership. We are in the 1% minority group, and the "N" word is used freely among certain students, and leadership has turned a blind eye each time we have reported it. My daughter mentions that there are even swastika carvings on lunch tables but nothing is done about it. If you happen to value education and an inclusive environment for your kids where racial slurs are not tolerated, do not send your kids here.

What kind of school doesn’t allow kids outside because of an eclipse? Even worse in my son’s 4th grade class they closed all the blinds even though the entire class was donated glasses! No outside recess all day? Forcing the kids to watch the news instead? What wild world do we live in? I would have kept my son home instead of being in prison for the day. I’ll be paying the principal a visit

I thought this school was good at 1st. 6 - 8 get 3 electives. Teachers seemed good. Now that the school is over crowded (1100 kids) the admin has made up all these unwritten rules - which hallway, staircase, & doors for 6 - 8. Teacher are not 100% sure about them. Many 6 - 8 teachers do not allow students to use the bathroom. 4 minute passing period is not long enough to criss cross the school to use the correct stairs & hall + use the bathroom. It's creepy when a 40 yo male teacher tells your 13 a yo girl she used 4 of her 6 bathroom passes for the semester. They just got lockers, put 40 in one small alcove. Kids share a half locker. Imagine 80 kids trying to use a small space in 4 minutes. There is no librarian. Principal told PTO it didn't matter, last librarian wasn't "a real librarian anyway." They have students doing mandatory minutes each week on online platforms to boost test scores but 6 - 8 does not have access to the library & they refuse to invest in a librarian. The priorities are all wrong here. There are a few great teachers but they have been slowly leaving because of the way the admin treats everyone. Students are numbers not people at 3C.

After k-5th we have decided to stay at TC for middle school rather than go to a specialized GT middle school. Teachers are engaged, there’s very little staff turnover (just new teachers added as the school has grown), lots of opportunities to get involved as a parent, and great support and flexibility from the administration. A bullying problem in kindergarten was handled well, and in later years we had a great experience working with the school for extra support. We’ve had to advocate for the extra GT opportunities in the classroom, and that’s been harder with some teachers more than others, but that’s probably true everywhere. Overall a great school and we highly recommend.

This is listing is incorrect. It is a K-8 school and covers all of elementary and high school grades. The principal is very engaged, and the school is one of the best in the area.

If you have a child with special academic or behavioral needs, watch your child closely to make sure his or her needs are being met. Be prepared to advocate, advocate, advocate for your child. If you transfer to Three Creeks and the IEP or 504 plan that your child brings from another school is dropped prematurely, your child can be negatively impacted; a child should never go from having extra supports to having nothing. In the best interests of you and your child, hire a special education lawyer or a special ed advocate immediately (money well-spent).If you have an adopted child, DO NOT discuss their background with the school. There are staff and admin with discriminatory beliefs about adoptive parents, who put their own twist on information shared in confidence with the sole intent of helping them better understanding a child and his or her emotional/social/relational/academic struggles. After a full year of our child's issues being neglected at school, blame was shifted onto the parents and the child's diagnoses, background, and major birth trauma were disregarded. The school is so big that there are bound to be children who slip through the cracks, many of those being the students with unique needs. Parents of children with special needs have ways of finding each other, and I know for certain it isn't just our child with special needs who has struggled at Three Creeks. The School Resource Officer clearly does not have experience with special needs. She didn't see our child's special needs for what they are and was unwilling to let us educate her about them, neither did she look into the child's school file to gather information when a situation arose. She exacerbated our child's attention-seeking behaviors and attachment issues purporting to help, when in reality she created major trauma for our family that we barely survived intact. Literally NO GOOD came from our interaction with the SRO, only lasting damage. Keeping the family unit intact should be top priority for schools, not tearing them apart. Be watchful, be mindful.

We have been with Three Creeks since it opened and have seen tremendous growth in the student body and the teaching staff. The first administration struggled to define the school, but the current principal has been there 3 years now and the morale of the staff has skyrocketed and the students have certainly benefited. The transition from iPads to Chromebooks has been terrific for the students this year and positions them for success as they go to high school. We have been very personally pleased with the schools commitment to academic success for our child.

We love Three Creeks! It is a warm and welcoming school that pushes academics and a strong sense of community.

I think your child’s education is like a lottery. It depends on the teacher and you never know who it will be because of the turnover. Kindergarten was a miss but 1st and 2nd have been okay. This school should be 4 or 5 stars not 8. We moved from Texas and my child didn’t learn anything for half the year. Not impressed with the Principal or Asst Principal. Even though racial diversity is touted, take it from someone who is in the 1% (Native American) you will experience exclusion and bullying with no repercussions for bully. Get rid of the iPads, Three Creeks, if you ever want better academic ratings! And if you’re a minority, sign your kid up for therapy now, because bullying is okay here. Not sure how this is legal?

We are extremely happy to be part of this school. From what we have experienced, teachers and staff go above and beyond for their students. Three Creeks has created an environment where students want to be there and learn (Very important). Covid has not given the opportunity for this school (As any other) to show it's full potential, but as the dust settles this school has proven to be a great school. Amazing job Three Creeks!

The administration and teachers have created an academic environment where are boys are thriving. I can’t say enough good things about how happy we are with Three Creeks.

We could not happier with this school. Teachers are great, overall staff is great and the school is very much state of the art in terms of technology.

Not the best. Our family moved to Jeffco from Boulder Valley, and there is really no comparison at all. I have been disappointed overall. My child seems to be losing progress academically - spelling and handwriting have declined due to the iPad use, and he is not really learning nearly as much as he did at BVSD. That district is very much more engaged and interactive with the students. There are a lot of community activities and parental involvement. I feel like we don't know anyone - kids, parents, or teachers - at this school, and when we start to feel familiar with a staff member, they leave.
