We've been at Eldorado K-8 for the past 8 years. We have three children currently enrolled in the school. We are very pleased with the administration and teachers we've had over the years. As with any school, some teachers stand out more than others, but there have been many to brag about. The teacher librarian is incredible; he is innovative, creative and really one of the best we've ever seen. The 1st grade teaching team is fantastic. The 4th grade teaching team is one of the best in the business. The middle level ELA teacher is wonderful; she has been a huge inspiration to our middle schooler. The 7th grade math teacher has been excellent. And the list goes on! Eldorado also does a middle school musical and fall play that are very well done. The school itself is spacious, clean and inviting, providing students with a first-class learning environment.

Eldorado is a school with heart! The teachers care deeply and truly understand their students. We are so lucky we get to continue in this great school and community from elementary through middle school. This school fosters both academic achievement and social-emotional development. I can't say enough great things about Eldorado!

As a parent, Eldorado K-8 has been a game-changer for my child's education. The teachers are not only passionate but also incredibly supportive, ensuring that every student reaches their full potential. The strong sense of community among parents and staff makes it feel like a second family. My firsthand experience confirms that Eldorado K-8 is truly a standout school where my child is thriving academically and socially.

I am an alumni of Eldorado K-8. I attended this school the very first year it opened & the year after before loving to Thornton. (6th and 7th grade).I was one of very few black students and was reminded of it everyday. Granted, the political climate was different then, but not much different from now and I struggled. I remember a student pointing out the country “Niger” to me on a map. I also remember being photographed by the Daily Camera at the MLK Jr. march because I was holding hands with my friend, who was white. In the photo (which was featured in the paper) I’m laughing because even then, 12ish, I thought it was ridiculous. To ride the wave the school then asked me to read the “I Have a Dream” speech over the intercom and sing the national anthem at some (and then many) game(s) afterwards. I understand what they were trying to do-include me. But the marketing that was made from my likeness is wild. Was on pamphlets to increase diversity and literally was invited to any event regardless of my inclusion or not, solely so they could take a photo of myself and my family and put it in the pamphlet. It is the definition of Superiority in Superior (we’re better than you) Colorado.

My two elementary aged children have had positive learning experiences each year at Eldorado. They've had exceptional teachers who care about them and are genuinely interested in helping them grow. There's a strong parent community and PTO at the school as well.

This school is an underrated gem. Both kids have gone here (one with autism) and the school has been great in building custom learning plans and accommodations. I have seen both kids absolutely excel at eldorado. Teachers have been wonderful, communicative, and great in pushing kids to keep striving for excellence. We came here from Superior Elementary and feel eldorado is the better option by far.

We've had a mostly great experience at this school for our (current) second grader. She loves going to school everyday at the K, 1st, and now 2nd grade level. We've also heard from families with older children that they have had great experiences and their children have had great experiences at the older grade levels.

We moved to Superior two years ago and since then we have had our child in Kindergarten and grade 1. We are really happy with the safety, staff and the education. Our son loves going there, and he has continued to excel both academically and emotionally. Anyone considering a move here to this district should come check out the school and kids any morning or afternoon to see for themselves.

My daughter is attending elementary school at Eldorado and our experience has been fantastic. All of the kids, K-8, that we come across seem very happy going in and coming out of school. They have so many extra programs spanning from within and outside of the normal class curriculum. This is facilitated by staffed specialists as well as the exceptional middle school kids that mentor my daughter and the other elementary school kids. They really do an awesome job at leveraging all expertise within the staff, school attendees and even volunteers. It's amazing to my wife and I how advanced our daughter is already. This education spans from normal school type curriculum but also very useful skills and knowledge she'll need to be successful in life. Finally, the teachers and the principal go way above and beyond what I would consider normal duties to make sure that every kid, and parent, have full support and realize every imaginable benefit we could ask for from any education system.

I put a 1 star because the administration is super terrible. The front desk lady is super nice and the best staff person there. The vice principal is really mean and punishes the students for small mistakes that aren’t to big of a deal I’ve heard of kids that are really scared of her. To make kids deal with their mistakes they punish them by missing class time and after that it makes the students act worst then before. But the science/math teacher is probably the worst one, she doesn’t know what she is doing, she gets really mean for the dumbest things and accuses and targets kids in her classes and makes them feel bad about themselves more then they should. I really do not recommend this school to people out of the area and should pick a different school to go to.

TLDR: pretty mid-school. If you live nearby just go here. It's a pretty average school. It's not like the craziest thing and it's not dog water either. The school lunch is the same as other schools except for the milk. Recently the school milk taste has become increasingly more off, before it tasted like normal school lunch milk. It tastes slightly like vanilla ice cream but nothing special. However one day this year it suddenly changed the taste went from normal to unbearable. It now tastes salty and slightly like water down cool ranch Doritos. Not a good taste to mix with slight sweetness.

Meanest girl cliques imaginable. The school does nothing to break them up and they bully any girl who is not in their clique. Truly horrible. The boys also made racial slurs, threatened girls and boys, and hurt each other. The administration protected the bullies and they should be doing more to promote empathy and kindness. It was really awful for my child. I know middle school is tough but it’s a WASPy neighborhood which seems to encourage competition among kids. Total denial of their children’s cruelty. Not a school for sweet kind kids. Beware.

Worst school my kids have ever attended! From bully students to bully teachers and don’t even get me started on the vice principal who crosses lines regularly, this bullying issue will never gets resolved in this school with the policy or lack of policy it has towards the bullying issue. Academics are pushed so hard! Your child will be stressed about the tons of homework, CMAS, daily school life. My kids are very good students who used to love school, but Eldorado ruined that for them! Social emotional- I really don’t know where to begin! It feels like things are being presented to children at this school without giving it a thought, dealing with problematic behavior makes no sense at all! I wish there were no funds for a counsellor rather than the damage we had to deal with after the fact.Let’s talk equality- if you’re rich and donates money at a fund raising event- your kid will become the principal for the day for example. Isn’t this a great prize for a rich kid? All I have to say is, please stay away from this school for the wellbeing of your children! My kids are attending different schools now, and I can’t be more grateful! They actually want to go to school which is a huge change from their experience in Eldorado.

We have had an awesome experience at Eldorado so far. All the way from preschool to middle school, the school and teachers have been great. The special ed team has gone above and beyond to find the right accommodations for my child.

First of all, let me just say that if you want your child to have a great education and time at school, just send them to superior elementary or monarch middle school. This school is always dirty, I always see food on the ground in the hall, just laying there. Nobody cares enough to clean the school. The teachers could care less about treating everyone fairly. If your parents have money, are on the PTA, or you are a "popular" kid, then you might as well consider yourself above the law. The principal is decent but the other staff is horrible. One morning, I went to school early for a club they had. Keep in mind that it was 23 degrees outside at the time and actively snowing. I got to the door and asked to be let in for the club. This was at 7:40. The front desk lady told me that the club had been canceled. Nobody told us about this, proving that the communication at this school is very bad. I asked the lady if I could go inside and just wait since it was so cold. I begged and she repeatedly told me no. My mom called both the front desk and the principal and they refused to let me. I waited outside in 23-degree weather from 7:40 until 8:20. Please don't send your children here. Monarch or Superior Elementary would be a much better choice.

Avoid this school at all costs if your child has a disability or special needs. This year they started an AIM program and its been a horrible uphill battle. The staff are completely ignorant to the needs of a child on the spectrum. My son was excelling at Superior Elementary and after graduating there and starting middle school at Eldorado K-8 we have seen my sweet one change in so many ways. The principal Barb Aswege is non existent on communication. she took one course over the summer about autism (those were her words exactly) and inserts herself into every aspect of the team instead of really supporting them where they need help. she has pushed back continuously on letting the team receive more help/paras. there needs to be a consistent trustworthy team so that the children can get to know them and trust them. my child is non-speaking therefore, its hard to know how his day went unless someone else communicates that to me. The classroom was completely bare until I put out a call to the community for items for the children. At this school children with disabilities are thought of as lesser than and not deserving of a quality education with empathy and understanding.

This school has been a very bad experience for me and my family. From mean teachers to bad admin, this school has made my kid stressed out every day they come home. The school gives way too much homework and doesn't care about if the students have enough time to do it. The school doesn't discipline disrespectful students and lets them be mean to the other students. Multiple parents have emailed the principal in the past and the principal has done nothing about the issues that parents or students are having with the school. I'm very disappointed in this school.

This school is not the best, Not because of the education, but because of the people that make up the school. I have gotten threat, had to deal with lots of issues with grade members, The bathrooms and hallways are nasty. I mean today is Monday, April 4, 2022 and our hallway smell awful, and don't get me started on the bullying issue. May I even add I have server depression from my years here, especially 6th grade. My 8th grade year has not been any better, I have had issues with the Vice principle, I mean I don't feel like I am wanted at this school. Me and my Friends have gotten death threats, One of them moved school. Our vice principle bribes students with food for good behavior, (which they barley do.) and finally the bathrooms, I cannot even deal with it. They are so gross, Nasty in ever corner, the floors are sticky, and I am not saying our janitors are not good at there jobs, I honesty feel horrible for them. My own mother has had a horrible time when she volunteered for the PTO.I am also 100% sure if the school finds this and figures out I wrote this I am gonna be expelled from the school, do to the mass amount of injustice in this school. In conclusion from a student who goes to Eldorado, enroll our child into a different school, Thank you for your time for reading this review.
