Witt is an amazing school! Teachers and staff are the incredible.

We have had a wonderful experience at Witt Elementary in our 4 years here. My child's class was a larger size this year but his teacher was just amazing and she has helped to identify his strengths. Actually, all of my child's teachers have said the same things about his learning style through the years so I feel that they have been engaged and care about his success. My child said he doesn't want to go to a different school and I think that speaks volumes as to the experience offered at Witt. My child has a laptop provided by the school that he says he uses almost every day for math and reading so he can work at his own pace. Also, I've been pretty impressed with the art program. I do wish there was a little more communication with the teachers as to my child's progress but whenever I have emailed any of his teachers with questions or concerns they always got back to me promptly.

Our student is a full grade level behind in math. Problem is we didn't know this until the start of summer when all the work came home at the end of the year. There was no teacher communication, no planners to look at and sign and Friday folders were only sent home sporadically. Since they do not believe in homework we were totally in the dark as to how far behind our student really was. Now we are trying to play catch-up, but it's nearly impossible to learn division if you don't know multiplication. Plus with 27 students in the class, one on one instruction is virtually non-existent. It is supposed to be a STEM school, yet there is very little technology used. Most schools have a computer lab or Chromebook for student use, so I'm not sure how going to the computer lab 1x week is really utilizing technology as it relates to STEM.Don't walk, run away from this school.

While there have been principal turnovers until last year and some staff changes, we are optimistic that the STEM programs and health of the school is on the up.

I believe that this school helped me out when I was a kid. Made me feel like it was a second home.

I could not in good conscience recommend this school any longer.

We stayed several years too long. From the top down this school needs to be turned on its head. The director of academics from Jeffco that sees over this school needs to find a new job as well as those who she is suppose to serve under her. Their hiring practices are obviously flawed and will take anyone that's willing to work here. Our kids are so happy to be out of there! How can you have a "STEM" School with staff that haven't a clue as to what it is or how to use critical thinking. How many years does it take to start a program apparently more than 4. Finding a better school is easy when it's this bad.

Despite the negative reviews that you see on here, currently that is no longer the case. The new regime and teachers that have come in have been amazing!! The STEM program has gotten rid of the constant worksheets to hands on learning. It has given the staff and students an opportunity to teach and learn real world problems. The "grade" that you see on here is not a true representation of what has been created at Witt STEM Elem. My top choice for sure!!!

The director and the teachers truly care for the students. It is a warm community. I feel fortunate to have this resources available to us.

I want to learn more with technology and use it during school and not just during computer class. It would be fun to present my projects using an iPad or other computers.

Much effort on reading and math but would like to see more with science and technology since it's a STEM school. Staff is friendly and nice community, effective communication needs to be in place. Totally agree with others of the PTO, lack of ability to be effective or inclusive.

Since becoming a STEM school, I have seen amazing progress at Witt. I had a child go through Lukes, and while the teachers were great, the principal was terrible and most of the parents were dismissive, and not very friendly. At Witt, the parents are welcoming, and the teachers are embracing STEM.

The PTO at this school seems to be a mess. Hosting events and asking for money but no idea where it goes after the money is raised. An example: Our kids enjoyed going to (what they call a dance) but horrifying if you were there as a parent. Kids running the prerecorded music, with no control. Announcements on the mic that couldn't be heard. No idea if any money was raised and what it would have been for.

4th grade will be at a disadvantage. 50% chance of getting a decent teacher to now 0%. Placing a "teacher" that causes conflict while president of the "Partners" parents group as a teacher is just calling for more controversy. Good luck 4th grade families you'll need it!

The principal's complete incompetence, and inability to follow simple protocol, paired with mean, nasty teachers creates a haven for behaviourally challenged children, especially ones with parent's with an inability to take responsibility for themselves. Not fun!

Very disappointed in this school. We immediately enrolled our child as soon as we could into a different school and have been much happier. There was little to no homework and the bar is not set high whatsoever. The communication to parents was horrible. If you want your child to pass the bare minimum with absolutely no initiative to excel in life, enroll them here.
