Teachers are bullies. Male students are horribly abusive to female students. Classes are being taught by different substitutes most of the time. The principal is too overwhelmed to do the job and nobody seems to have the experience to work in education. Used to be a great school until a few years ago.

Anyone who says this school is 5 star doesn't know what they are talking about. I am a former student of PV, and i would not at all recommend it. kids are very mean here, and my brother and his friends get made fun of. The teachers don't do anything about it, unless a kid tells them face to face, then they just accuse and punish the kid, without giving them a chance to explain themselves, I have been falsely accused several times by staff. They teach under aged things, and grade papers incorrectly. my brother had a math question that asked for a decimal that is equivalent as 0.9, he put 0.90, and the teacher marked it as wrong. They also do not teach the things that will be on tests. The SEL teachers never know when something is wrong, witch could put kids in danger. any parent that rates this school 5 stars is wrong, I think their kid is just to scared to mention anything.

Love the school and staff they are all so friendly and very helpful. The principal is a wonderful one he definitely cares about his school and takes time to make sure everything is safe and running the way it needs too. He takes his job serious which is great. I would 1000% recommend this school.

I would not recommend Prospect Valley to any families of advanced learners. The school has no structures in place to support gifted students and their needs, which are often significantly different than those of their peers. There is very little differentiation within each classroom. There are some simple structural changes that could be made to allow children of all abilities to have focused attention. However, with the current model of keeping all kids with the same teacher all day, more focus is naturally on the students who need more help, which leaves the advanced level learners bored, unengaged, and unmotivated. When those students then act accordingly, they are considered behavior problems that annoy the teacher. Getting any kind of support for advanced learners is like pulling teeth, and the teachers seem openly hostile that they have to do more. Rather than being annoyed at the children and their parents, their annoyance should be aimed at the archaic structures that don't differentiate or recognize that ability grouping is the most effective way to teach students. There are, however, many pluses to this school. It likely works well for most kids. The parent engagement is amazing. The principal is great. Most kids seem to enjoy going to this school.

Our child has been here for four years now and we are beyond happy. The teachers are so dedicated and the principal works hard for all the kids, parents and even the building/facility. The new school building is almost done and the school will move in over Winter Break.

We are new to this school after moving into the neighborhood. The teachers have had great communication, the culture seems very positive, the principal is greatly involved and seems to strike a great balance of fulfilling teacher/parent/student needs. My daughters have opportunities to receive a lot of positive recognition through individual, classroom, and school reward systems. As a parent I feel that I have many opportunities to be as involved as I would like. My students have been taught anti-bullying techniques, and are learning great social skills as well as academic skills. I have noticed the homework load is substantially less than our previous school, but everyone has their own theories around that. I am happy to be at Prospect Valley!

The new principal is great, but he has a big job ahead of him. Teaching has declined over the last three years. Parents have chosen to open enroll their children at this school because of its previous reputation. But, its not the same quality that it used to be.

Our experience has been great. Excellent communication, a healthy positive environment, and we love the SAE program here.

This school is going down the 6th grade teachers are terrible they have favorite kids and if your child is not one then they are rude, mean and do not help your child. The principal is the same does not supportive with the parents if he does not like your child. All the good teachers are retiring and the principal is bringing in all these young teachers who do not pay attention to your children or help them.

Prospect Valley happens to be our neighborhood school. When we looked at the reviews when we were deciding to move into the area we were excited to have such a good school in our neighborhood so that we didn't have to deal with the choice process. However, we are currently a month and a half into the school year and I am rather underwhelmed with my child's teacher. She doesn't seem to like dealing with the parents OR the children and in fact, I wonder why she even decided to get a job as a teacher. She is very snappy and even condescending. Her lesson plans are clearly from the internet which is rather disappointing as I don't even have a teacher's certification and would be able to do the same thing. As it is so early in the year I will probably just try to ride this out and see what happens but I am seriously considering transferring my child to a private school next year. Long story short; the scores on the great schools website don't tell the whole story.

They are an amazing school! Amazing teachers and an awesome principle more should be like this man. He interacts with the kids and families. He doesn't just sit all day In his office typing away on his computer, he is involved with everyone which is very rare. I absolutely love this school and couldn't be more happy how they helped my baby learn and grow. Having your first child going to school is very scary for you as a parent and child, but they (Prospect Valley) has helped us. And the parent community is amazing, great atmosphere.

We are fortunate to live just blocks away from such a wonderful school. The teachers are fantastic--energetic and interested in their students. A majority of the teachers have been there for the eight years we've been at the school, and many have been there much longer. Our PE teacher retired after 35 years at Prospect Valley! We've experienced three different principals in our years at PV, and feel that we hit the jackpot with Mr. Collins! The kids love him. He is able to connect with them, yet still be very professional work well with the teachers, parents, and community. Prospect Valley seems to have all the components for a successful school--great principal, great teachers & support staff, and great families (with a lot of parent involvement).

There is no accountability with the principal and the staff. The teacher turnover is high and the administration is clueless on what is happening in the classroom. The vision and strategy for the school is sound, execution is very poor.

Really great school! We were welcomed and PV became a great place to land. Our dd's teacher was excellent and really works well with the kids -- but all the teachers we've encountered have been very good. The principal is "aces" in our book. What an incredible leader! Specials are truly "specials" and one even feels supported by the library and technical curriculum staff. A great year this was and truly appreciate all that PV has done.

Very low turnover of staff mean my kids see the same happy teachers from year to year. Principal makes sure that every teacher is committed to bringing the best out of every child. Pride, accountable and involved community. Love this school!!!

We choiced into Prospect Valley three years ago and love the school! This year, we have a new principal who provides strong, consistent leadership; focuses on improvements; and supports parents and staff members. He is consistently available and willing to try new ideas. The teaching staff is committed and dedicated to our children. Our teachers have challenged each child and communicated with us regularly about progress and opportunities for improvement. We have active PTA and accountability committees and more parents volunteering in the school than they might know what to do with! We recently started the national WatchdOGS program, which brings more male family members into the school. The students love to see the dads, uncles, and grandpas! Our PE teacher runs a comprehensive intramural program. After school care is offered at the school. The art, music, and library teachers are unparalleled in their fields. We are fortunate to have found PV!

Prospect Valley is a great school! Even with some staff changes, everyone has pulled together and made the school run as wonderful as ever. Prospect Valley is one big community of staff, kids and parents working together! Good Job to the staff and parents for making things fall into place. All the children are lucky to have all the support!
