Some students have problems learning, my sons teacher took her time to have a discussion with me about my son and how he can improve, if he is willing, it falls on the students, if they are willing to learn, they will, but if not, 80% of the teachers are willing to work with him. Many teachers love teaching, very few don't, this school is excellent if you child has a disability in learning.

I love this school. The principle (Mr. Johnson) is awesome and so are all the teachers.

Since this is a Los Angeles Unified Charter school, anyone can enroll their child there. It is a small school and Kindergarten through 3rd grade classrooms are set to 20 to 1. Upper grades follow the District's guidelines of no more than 36 to 1.

I agree with the last parent. 1. Rude staff2. Horrible teachers3. Militant style of discipline4. Principal not attentive.5. Take you child elsewhere.

If you are so unlucky to have this school assigned to you, do yourself and children a favor. OPEN ENROLL ELSEWHERE! This is the most incompetent school ever. Class sizes of 38! Teachers unwilling to communicate with the parents. The staff is rude and rarely smiles. The worst school I've ever seen, and the principle Mr. Johnson is weak. He doesn't make a parent feel as though their children's education is a priority. Basically they're all therei for that paycheck not for the good of the children. It's so frustrating to be a parent in this system. LAUSD is not a great option, but other schools in this area are betters than this one. Not by much, but check out Apperson and Mountain view before You sign up here..

I have been a parent here at Plainview since my first child now 16 started Kinder here. The school is great! When I walk in the school grounds I feel welcome. Every afternoon Mr. Johnson is at the gate to greet you and to make sure your child is safe when he/she gets dismissed. There have been a couple of situations where I have been reassured that my son is safe when he is in school. Most of the teachers have been around for a while. It's such a nice feeling to know most of them and to know that they also know you. It's like having an extended family here at school. The PTA is great! The parent volunteers work so hard to give every single student something they can remember for the rest of their life. All three of my children have gone to school here and they all hold wonderful memories of their school experience here at Plainview Academic Charter Academy. It trully is the best school! Something that I would like to see improved it's the name. Lol. It's too long...

Wow!! I transferred my kids from a different local school to Plainview. It was the BEST move we made. The principal is amazing! He greets the kids each morning and afternoon and knows their names. He is also very pleasant to work with. The teachers are kind and challenging the students academically. The PTA welcomes all parents and their ideas without any backstabbing or ostracizing. The most important part is that the students feel safe and happy. What difference when there's quality leadership.

I've been at Plainview since Kindergarden (2003) & it's been wonderful! are great, the aids & helpers are wonderful, & the students are well behaved. I've never been to a better school. I was disappointed when I had to leave in 4th grade.(2009) But I still love Plainview Ave. School no matter what.
