My son was in this school from kindergarten to 3rd grade. During his time at that school, his teachers were so nice, professional, and always kept us updated about my son’s academic progress or if he was not behaving well. We had to move my son to another school in his fourth grade because he qualified for a special program. Compared to the school he is currently in, the staff and teachers at Mountains View are definitely approachable.

Terrible school with unprofessional staff. I'm taking my child out of the school by the end of the year.

This is the worst school in the entire LAUSD District. My child has been bullied multiple times, and the principal did absolutely nothing about it. I have reached out to him multiple times and he was to busy to call me back. If you strongly care about your child's safety, I would not recommend sending your child to this school.

We have 3 kids who attend or have attended this school and are very happy with what we've seen. My eldest is in middle school now, in the magnet program, and feel that the 6 years at mountain view really prepped her for the magnet program in middle school.

Worst 2 months ever! My daughters class had a teacher that was not certified and had to leave because of it. In which sub after sub was in the class and parents we not notified. My daughter was being physically beat by 5 older boys in which I was told kinder kids are never left alone. Yet she continued to come home with new bruises and the principal only said after talking to them that she fought back and they would all be suspended. The TA put in her class to "protect" my daughter publically broadcasted all of my daughters personal information on her Facebook page in attempts to make fun of her name.

The school here was fine initially, but has sadly taken a fall downward spiral. The staff here only cares about one thing - the scores! what ever it takes to keep the scores up, not caring about individual students but the highest scoring ones. The parking is horrendous, no supervision, anyone parks wherever they want, and no one stops them even if they almost run over kids. The staff doesn't seem to care or do anything about it. The police that patrol come after everyone has left - no help in traffic control whatsoever. Whoever is in charge ? is not in charge and the attendance is way down, and parents taking their children out and going to another school! incompetence abounds! This is NOT a family close nit school society.

I Love this school. My both kids are going to this school. This is not my home school and I chose this school for my kids. I am happy that I made the Best choice for them. The staff are great as well as the teachers.

My daughter is enrolled in the same class in Kindergarden ha, Mrs. Jordan is a great teacher and my daughter loves her dearly. She always wants to write her notes and today she brought in a little yellow heart with herself and the teacher. I can just tell how much my daughter loves her teacher and how great a teacher she is, my daughters grades reflect that. This is a great school and although Im trying so hard to make a move so that Mountain View can be in our back yard per say lol, it's definetly worth the little extra drive, to get my daughter the best education she can get. I would reccomend this school to any parent who truly wants to set a foundation for the building blocks of your children's future, our future. Summer will be bittersweet because although, daddy will have his little girl back all day, my daughter is gonna take it rough with not having Mrs. Jordan as her teacher no longer:(. You can bet we will be visiting her quite often though:). Great school, great teachers and Im truly happy to say my daughter is enrolled in a great school and will succeed!

I have enrolled my daughter to Mountain View Elementary . This truly is an outstanding school. Due to the low enrollments, there has to be a sacrifice in loosing a wonderful teacher!!! Unfortunately my daughter's kindergarten teacher will be the one to leave. My daughter came home today really sad to know that Mrs. Lawrence was the teacher that is leaving. She will be missed by all her kindergarten class!! Hopefully more students will enroll in this truly wonderful, high achieving school that is in their very own back yard. Wanted to disclose this info incase anyone was reviewing or researching local elementary schools in the area.

My child is attending Kindergarten at Mountain View and we have had a great experience thus far. It is a small school so we have gotten to know the principal and the teachers well and everyone is very nice. Due to budget cuts there are a lot of things cut, but the current PTA is working hard to raise funds to support the school any way they can. I am glad I chose this school.

Kids are sweet. Many experienced and caring teachers like Stager in first grade Very low accountability in upper grades No behavior control - 5th grade is awful! Some teachers are ready to retire, and won't give homework, won't connect with students and parents, and are teaching the gifted classes - what a shame! Principal has no leadership and no tight focus or organization Since the new principal has been at the school, scores have been dropping every year - they must start to pull things together!!! Really, with LAUSD, I guess anything goes, including continuous drop in scores and nothing that gets done!

I have been at mountain view for five years and from experience, it is a very good school. The campus is very clean and safe. The teachers are great and there is free after school intervention! I recommend that you take your child to this school and they will succeed in all areas.
