The principal of this school is spectacular. Unfortunately, for some under him, that's not the case. I would not wish this school on my worst enemy's child. The behavior of the students (lots of fighting) and lack of discipline by Administration (specifically 6th grade Assistant Principal) is absolutely horrendous. I don't understand how a person with such poor self control towards others can ever be put in a position to have authority and potential impact of decisions on others. He (6th grade AP) was incorrect in procedure and information regarding decisions made after incidents where other students put their hands on our son. He (AP) lashed out at me verbally and became animated because he attempted to provide my son inaccurate direction. When I corrected what was being said. He didn't like the correction began using his authority to punish our son. I know this because we were told he was not correct in the direction he provided after reporting his behavior to his superiors. He failed to include appeals in his decisions twice, which are standard procedure that we found out later from others of higher authority than him. Transferring our son as soon as issues are completely resolved.Heed the warning.

My daughter entered as a 6th grader she and I both love this school. Yes its old looking but I don't judge a book by the cover and glad I didn't. The principal is very hands on, the communication is over the top but I like that. I love that you have to participate in your students studies, school requires parents to have a total 16 hours. The teachers that my daughter has are excellent and very engaging. This is really the best Middle School DeKalb has, if you communicate, show your face at that school, I promise your student will flourish.

What can I say about this school environment? The students are not angels by FAR! The teachers that I've encountered have been great. They were always willing to listen. The students are a different story. My child would not have thrived there at all. They ask questions about things like sexual orientation and virginity. They constantly fight there among other things. My child experienced another student touching them and it was taken care of by the counselor and teacher which I did appreciate. Also, there was a principal there that put her hand around my child's neck to pull them back to talk to them which I DID NOT appreciate. Just go somewhere else and the great teachers there should follow suit. I did!

A great school, for your new middle school experience child to go to.

If you communicate with the faculty and staff they will let you know about your student's conduct and academic progress. You are required to volunteer 8 hours per semester which is good to see how things flow in the school during and between classes. The school is quite old and needs to have additional funding for repairs or just move into a newer facility. BUT, the educational program is worth it and parents fight beg and sometimes plead to get their kids in this old school from around the county. Well worth the sacrifice and would not consider changing schools until he goes into high school. Test score for this school tells the "proof" in this cholls pudding!!!

My son attends Champion as an 8th grader. His first year as a 7th grader was very challenging regarding social integration and acceptance as a newcomer. The students appeared to be disorganized and ungovernable. This year the leadership was excellent. There have been virtually little to no fights, many successful activities, attentive and some very dedicated teachers.

I attend this school and I have enjoyed it up until the 8th grade. The 8th grade team I am on is very difficult to work with and they never put in grades which has caused even my parents to lose trust in me. The teachers have continued to call parents and gang up on one students like bullies and call there parents. This semester because of this tom-foolery alot of the students on my team are failing. This school is great and organized but, a bunch of melarky when it comes to finding great teachers. These teachers are bullies and shouldn't be allowed to teach. They are the rudest in the history of great schools.

The school is ok to say the best. Lots of work and no guidance turns out disastrous! Teachers are more focused on dressed code than the child's needs. Horrible communicationfromteachers and the best they can say is check the parent portal that they don't keep up to date. The school is old and in serious need of major repairs!!!

My daughter is currently in the 7th grade and we had a wonderful year in 6th grade. She was on the Paladins Team. During her first semester in 6th grade her grades dropped significantly..... The adjustment of middle school and its challenges. Not completing assignments. However, we met with the teachers arranged parent conferences , communicated via parent portal and kept up with the assignments. This made a whole of difference in keeping my child on track.... The teachers worked hard and put out extra effort to ensure the children are learning. I give my hats off to them. Having to dealing with all the different personalities of not only the children but the parents as well. Great Job Teachers!!!!! Keep up the good work.

CTMS is awful! My daughter is in 7th grade and she barely gets homework, when she does, the teachers grade half of the work. The communication with us parents is horrible. My daughter was furious when I told her she was accepted, she said it was lame and boring, ( you know, what most teens say now). The uniforms are cute but my daughter wants to express her style, I've done some thinking. She will be going to either Redan or Stephenson Middle School next year, I hear they have a nice academic program.

We just completed 6th grade - our first year at Champion. I must say that I was very pleased at our experience there. I had a great core of 6th grade teachers. Communication was great - we consistently got communication about events at the school and due dates of activities. My son has done very well.

This school is a joke. The people rating it must be out of their minds. This is the first time my child had attended public school and now I know why. There's no communication between the teachers and parents. I will email them and get no response. My child is in 7th grade and doesn't have homework. Really!!!! How do you prepare for the CRCT if you don't have anything to do. They have a math substitute who's just getting a paycheck. The student academic person for this grade level doesn't care. People and myself included are flopping here becasue this is a great school. It is unitl you a apart of it. Don't send your child here if you want them to learn because that's not happening. From my understanding it use to be a good school but not now just like the rest of Dekalb County. Nobody cares about the children only their paychecks.

The Champion School is awesome, the Staff prepared my sons to be high achievers. The Acamedic Programs are vigorous, highly recommend this school.
