My child started in kindergarten and will be going to the second grade this year. I like the low teacher to student ratio and the individualized attention each child receives. They are able to move them at their pace. Those who work faster and at a higher level and given an appropriate level work to do. The teachers and staff really care about all the students and it’s really obvious because they LOVE going there. My child’s MAP scores are awesome (though I am of two minds about standardized testing at this age). The school has helped instill a love of learning and confidence in my child that I hope will stay with him as he grows.

SRP is just amazing! My daughter has been attending since kindergarten, and is now entering 2nd grade. The class sizes are small and the teachers are so engaged with the students. The school environment really does feel like family. Everyone is accepted for who and how they are, and the bigger kids really look out for and take care of the little ones. I absolutely love and recommend this school to anyone looking for the best educational environment for their child without the super high cost attached.

This school quickly caught my heart. The administration, the teachers and the staff as a whole want what’s best for our kids. The environment is filled with love, encouragement and positivity for each child as an individual but also as a group. They are accepting of each child as they are and love to support their growth in all facets. Smoke Rise Prep is a small school but deserves all the recognition in the world. SRP is and will always be a huge part of my children’s education and growing. We love Smoke Rise Prep.

My granddaughter has attended Smoke Rise Prep since 3rd grade and she is now a 8th grader. Due to the teachers and staff she has excelled in all subjects. The camaraderie they all share will be missed when she moves on to high. This is an exceptional school and I highly recommend it!

Smoke Rise Prep is an outstanding school. My daughter looks forward to going to school every single day because of the amazing and enriching experience she has there all day long. From Academics to Specials she loves every part of her school curriculum and so do we as parents. The administration and teachers are very kind and approachable. They actively work with the parents for the betterment of the child. The Principal is compassionate and genuinely cares about the students. There is an atmosphere of teamwork that is apparent among the staff. Thankyou to the SRP Family for being so awesome in caring for the students in these unprecedented times too.Munirah Lalani.

My sons have attended SRP since the 1st grade, I could not have found a better place for them to learn and grow. They are now in middle school at SRP and not only are they ready for high school but I know they will do well! Thanks SRP!

I've struggled with how to write a review that didn't sound like ad copy. We have found Smoke Rise Prep and it's environment that focuses on accountability and honesty to be exactly what our student needed. We had a 4th grader who felt unloved and misunderstood at her old school. She had been labeled as trouble and excelled only in the Theatre. When we toured at SRP she was in a bad place emotionally. She didn't trust teachers and was hostile to the very idea of learning. By the time we were done with the tour she eagerly embraced her new teacher, had connected very positively with the Principal and was making friends in the lunch room. In a year and a half at SRP, she has gone from a kid who hated everything to do with learning, to one who put in the extra work to stay on the all "As' list and she has even been named, as student of the month once! Honesty, accountability and appreciative partnerships all combine to make Smoke Rise Prep the ideal place for us. Maybe you too?

LOVE SRP! Very happy that there's a school that believes in teaching over testing. Yes, they participate in testing but it's a very relaxed approach. Test the students in the AM for an hour or two a day for a few days... not all day like public school. They are great at giving kids breaks, even the middle school students still get recess and lunch back to back which allows them to relax, interact for an hour a day then get back to work. We've been there now 2 years for middle school. This year the Art program really took off! I've been impressed with how our daughter has been challenged with her gift as an artist. Also, I have much love for the afterschool clubs like Environmental Science which is very personal and interactive.

Our son has attended Smoke Rise Prep for the past 3 years and it has been a wonderful and very educational experience for him. The teachers are top notch and are dedicated to the student's education. The Life Prep class is wonderful and presents the students with real-life topics (finances, proper etiquette, self-care, etc.). There is a variety of after-school/virtual clubs which cover many interests. The Principle and School Counselor are very involved and make themselves available to the students and parents. The school performed wonderfully this year/end of last year adjusting to and operating in the midst of the COVID pandemic. Because of their experience with online course platforms, they were able to successfully transition to virtual teaching and later offer a hybrid program. Parental involvement is welcome and is necessary for the success of the school. It is a very welcoming and safe environment. I wish they also taught High School :-).

My 2 kids (5th and 2nd) love SRP, and I love it too! Great teacher run classrooms, kids are confident and thriving. SRP is a hidden gem. Small classrooms, lots of activities to engage students. My 2 little ones are doing very well. Testing is above the national average. Couldn’t be more pleased.

Absolutely, hands down the best choice I have ever made!!! My husband and I have looked at so many private schools over the last year, we weren’t in love with the public school our 3 kids were in but nothing really stood out about any of the schools we visited or they were just so beyond our budget and then I found Smoke Rise Prep. I think I fell in love within the first 5 minutes of walking in the door. The staff are AMAZING!!! They are polite, fun and engaging! The principal Ms Waddell, is beyond words phenomenal. The class sizes small, tuition is so reasonable that sometimes I feel guilty that’s all we pay!! My twin boys are in 2nd grade and over the last few months they have flourished. They actually love going to school!! I couldn’t be happier! The parents are involved and I don’t PTA involved, I mean this is like a family and we’re lucky enough to be a part of it!! I can’t wait for my daughter to start next school year and neither can she!!!

Parents if you are looking for a great school in the local Stone Mountain/Tucker area, please look into Smoke Rise Prep. The classroom sizes are perfect. The curriculum is very good. The staff and administration are personable and caring. If you want to have a voice in your child's education, this is definitely a school to consider.

This is our first year attending SRP, our child is in 1st grade. We absolutely love this school! The class sizes are small.The teachers truely care about every student and their education. They go above and beyond making sure the kids know the material. The new curriculum as of 2018-2019 is great, the teachers have more freedom teaching the material in the manner to help every child. SRP uses hands on learning. My child loves going to school!

This is our daughter's second year at Smoke Rise Prep. As a previously home-schooled student, we wanted a small, connected environment to introduce her to a brick & mortar school. We couldn't be happier to have found SRP!!! The small class sizes give teachers the opportunity to truly work with each student on their level, and allows for flexibility in the daily schedule if the teacher believes more time is needed on a particular subject, or to accelerate the curriculum if the students are all "getting" the material. Our daughter excelled in first grade, and with the support and advocacy of the Teachers and Administrators, we successfully advanced her to 3rd grade where she has been more evenly matched academically with the other students, and been given the opportunity to push and challenge herself to perform with kids a full year older than her. While no school is ever perfect, Smoke Rise Prep is pretty darn close. All 100 students from first grade to eighth know each other's name, the older kids look out for the younger ones, the parents are fully engaged and committed to participating in their student's education, and the teachers are loving, compassionate, and funny! Do yourself and your student the biggest favor of their secondary education life, and go visit Smoke Rise Prep! You'll be glad you did!!!!

My child began an incredible journey in education when he started at SRP in 2011. He will be graduating from 8th grade this year! Our family believes that a great school offers more than just dynamic academics, a great school has a strong philosophy and a safe and motivating environment! SRP has fit that bill for our family. My son has definitely achieved his academic goals, taking 5 high school level courses while still in 8th grade. In addition, he has developed a strong sense of self, confidence, integrity, compassion and more. The SRP environment is one that encourages all of this! Possibly my favorite ideal at SRP is how much they truly recognize the diversity in each of us! Teachers who know each student as the individuals that they are, administrators and staff who celebrate this diversity every day through fun lessons, events, and conversations. It will be hard to leave SRP next year, but we feel confident that our son has a great foundation to guide him into his bright future!

Such a great school! Both of my children have thrived here for the past three years. My oldest will be graduating to attend high school and he will be leaving with five high school credits thanks to the Advanced Learner Program. My youngest has overcome some hurdles with his teachers' help and is looking forward to starting middle school here. We love this great school!

Excellent school. I have had three kids at Smoke Rise Prep over the past four years. Two of them have moved on to Parkview HIgh School where they are getting straight A's. Smoke Rise Prep provides a supportive educational environment that allows students to learn and excel. The teachers and staff truly care about the children and focus on learning and development rather than the bureaucratic nonsense that plagues many other schools (both public and private).

I have a middle schooler and an elementary student enrolled at Smoke Rise Prep. We could not be happier! The small class size ensures that the teachers really get to "know" all of the students, and have a strong interest in the success of each one. The curriculum is fast-paced, and my daughter will be taking high school math by 8th grade. The school is very good about working through social issues (like resolving peer issues productively) with the children, and understands that respectfulness and self confidence are keys to successful education. Both of my kids jump out of bed excited to go to school every day.
