The food there is just unacceptable if they just gave the kids better food like they say they care about them.

I have had a positive experience at this school. Kids are exposed to positive experiences.

It is a bad school it needs to be a good. The teaching is awful. The respect is not on the level. Bullying is a major thing in that school if they can fix this y’all will be a good school

I have a 6th grade daughter at this school and she was poked with a NEEDLE by another kid and it is sad that kids can walk around the school with needles, knifes, and drugs but my daughter can't even walk around with her RESCUE inhaler, that is really sad and she has told me that there are many ( not all ) teachers in there downgrading students and cursing like it is their only language. How am I supposed to let my youngest daughter go to this school next year I don't think I can.

im a student at this school. even though i intellgent in all subjects but math. When i came here i my grades went UP. All of them did. Theres actully alot of smart people here. went here for 7th grsde and im happy to go back for 8th grade. The teachers actully do care. Most of the bad reviews here are just people complaining. I met some good friend here. and when people,e messed with me or other people the teachers find out and the bully does get punished. if the teschers didnt care there wouldnt be an afterschool tutoring program or teachers who help you if you say you having trouble

I'm sorry to hear that so many of you had bad experiment with SMMS. But I must say my son who struggled with some of his classes turn out great. The teachers and I work hard with him and he made the principal list twice ,Now he will be going to SMHS. Great job SMMS.

When I came to this school in the middle of the 6th grade I didn't like this school at all! The kids were cursing and some were in gangs. Majority of the teachers don't care about the kids and don't encourage the kids to do better but I wouldn't say all the teachers. My mother had to move me to another school because it was outrageous. I am now in a MUCH better school and I am more than glad I moved from such an ignorant environment of ignorant people. At the end of the day, it's always the kids and teachers that make up the school. I hope one day this school will change.

this school is horrible my children have only been there for 8 days since we moved and the only one who has a brain is the principal. he has alot of cleaning up to do needs to fire the whole stafff from the fake as, police security chick down to the smart mouth teachers who hide behind police . i swear they give you a reason to want to go to jail.

They don't treat parents like partners, they treat parents like outsiders. They do not give students the attention they need to thrive in class. The teachers, not all of them, they have no intention of talking to parents regularly about their children's progress. I could write so many things about this school. It is a waste of tax payers money. The teachers not all of them, have no will of educating the students. When asked a question in class, the answer given was "I do not know". When parent asked, "how to improve his/her kids attention and performance in class room". The parent has being told, it is his/her job not the teachers job. The biggest problem too is dicouraging good students, pushing them to be bad kids not good productive citizens. I am very ashamed of myself for sending my kid to this school. No wonder the school is way behind in all levels of rating in performance. I know the teachers, again not all of them, they realy don't care.

This school is absoutely disturbing, it is evident that some are the teachets are there for one reason only a PayCheck. Instead of creating a therapuetic learning atmosphere for the students to learn, the teachers are too busy on their cell phones, or either screaming at their students at the top of their longs over petty issues, such as a child asking to borrow a pencil! Not to mention that some of the sixth grade teachers have habit of insulting their students out in the open.A sixth grade liteature teacher has nadty habit about this. I was warned about this school but wanted to give smm a try, that was the worst I have ever done! This school needs major overhaul, and I want bring my child back next year!

If you can do something about it, please do not send your child to this school. The administration and some of the teachers are the very obstacles standing in the students way of a quality education. This year alone the administration have told students they are not allowed to go to the bathroom at all during school hours. They allowed them to use cell phones to text in to get on a news show. Remember cell phones are not allowed in school! If you are an active parent in your child's education they rather you not be. Parents, students and quality teacher complaints are dismissed. My husband and I have had enough of this school. We were able to place our child in a better school for her last year of middle school. Many other parents are trying to do the same. I only wish we were able to do so earlier. The few positives for the school are the Honor Society. The teacher over the Honor Society is the 6th grade Science teacher. He genuinely cares about his students. Our daughter has made some good friends. It is these same friends who will now be separated because, they are all getting transferred to better schools.

Stone Mountain Middle is an excellent school. I am a student on the gifted team, and the experience i have had the past three years has been wonderful. There are caring teachers, and it gives its students a rigorous curriculum. We have a new principal that truly cares about the students. There are several extrecurricular activities, includin band, chorus, ambasadors, FBLA, FCCLA, Art Club, Beta Club, Technology club, Ladies of Destinction, 21st Century, Science Club, Dance Team, Football, Track, Gems, Girl Scouts, Step, and Basketball. We have made AYP three years in a row, and there are very few fights. The resources are there. all you have to do is try and dedicate yourself, and there are people there to put you in the right direction. I am 14 and in the 8th grade.

moved from nyc and i wish i would of seen the ratings of this school before hand. My daughter was threating to get jumped, went to the school too many times for this issue. Definitely moving to a different county because of this school.. would not recommend this school for my dog, let alone any child
