To be totally honest, this school is depression if it was a physical building. The principal tiptoes around looking for problems and constantly criticizes people for simple mistakes, causing people to either despise her or butter her up to avoid being picked apart. Most of the teachers talk to students any type of way without care because the school has to scrape at the bottom of the barrel to find new teachers, so the ones who have been here a while know that the school can't afford to fire them therefore they make inappropriate comments such as "If I wasn't at school I would have a lot to say to you" or " It doesn't matter if you learn my paycheck is the same at the end of the month". From the moment you enter you feel the dim atmosphere and overhear students wishing to transfer schools or go elsewhere. This is awful. Do better.

As a student of the school it comes down to be a great school the visual and vocal art classes are amazing. The chorus teacher Is amazing but that my basis cause he's my teacher. Most of the classes are really easy but, with good thing there is always a bad side. When it comes down to safety the more years go by the more fight there seems to be. The food is great but when the 8th graders get there there's practically nothing left.

The fine arts program is wonderful, especially the Choir department. We are districted for a different middle school in the county, and my child auditioned specifically for the fine arts program. It was a great decision. Be prepared to over-communicate with the teachers if your child has special needs though, as our experiences with accomodations has not been great. Ultimately, we were able to work it out though.

Both children had great experiences. One was very prepared for Rockdale Magnet. The other is excelling at a more traditional high school.

I have a daughter that goes to Davis and there is not one day that goes by that she complains about how much she hates Davis. I feel as if the staff is very welcoming and nice, but unfortunately my daughter feels different. If you want your child to like their school, and not complain about how much they despise everyone and everything about the school, then Davis would be a terrible school choice for your child. If you just care about grades and excellent achievement then Davis would be a great school choice for your child.

Davis is amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its the only theme school in rockdale. if u r lokking 4 a good school 4 ur child davis is the place 2 go 2. I never saw a better school than davis. every other school was horrrriiiiibbbbllllleeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!no lie.PLEASE GO TO GENERAL RAY DAVIS MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!!! :) :) :) :) GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAVIS!!!!!

Two of my children attended General Ray Davis Middle and I couldn't have been more pleased with the quality of education and opportunities provided to my children in their years at the school. Both entered high school well-prepared for rigorous coursework and went on to successfully complete numerous AP and other advanced level courses. Their years at Davis were fundamental in supporting the development of strong work habits, pride in self, and solid core skills and content knowledge. The staff is well-trained and professional; the administrators are strong, positive leaders. I could not have paid for a better school, and thanks to Davis Middle, I didn't have to.

Gen. Ray Davis Middle School I have loved this school. The staff is involved and caring toward the students. My daughter's transition to this school has been so smooth and happy.

My Daughter went to General Ray Davis Middle School. We had a wonderful experience there. I truly appreciated the administration and how they really looked after the kids. If you want your kids to have a "Private School" atmosphere, in that they keep a close eye on them and do not stand for any misbehavior, this is the place for you! They call it "The Academy" for a reason. I had the opportunity to go on a class trip to Savannah with my daughter and it was the most fun ever. I got a chance to see that the teachers really look out for the kids and care for their well-being. The sports programs are great! My Daughter has just gotten a scholarship and I can't help but think that Davis Middle School played a part in her acheiving this goal. I highly recommend this school to anyone who cares for their kids!
