I just finished my freshman year at O’hara and it was horrible. I am switching schools next year. The only good thing about it was the sports and clubs and the friends I made. Otherwise, it was not a good school. I didn’t have a math teacher the whole year. I kept getting subs that weren’t qualified at all. They kept quitting and one of them I actually had to report because she wasn’t a real math teacher. In class, she didn’t teach us anything and instead made the kids teach the class because she didn’t know what to do. Most of the kids in my class failed because of the lack of teaching. I had to teach myself math every night. Overall the teachers were the worst part and they are clearly not qualified to be there. There are only a few teachers who actually can teach and I felt that I was actually learning something. The people are also fake and toxic and people do substances and smoke in the bathroom all the time.. I hated going everyday. Please don’t send your kids here!

As a recent graduate all I have to say is the administration at this school is extremely bad. The discipline department is very rude to students and does pick favorites when dealing with a situation. Also the teachers are very bad with the exception of a few good ones. Most of the school is in dire need of upgrades but instead purchases other things that are very unnecessary.

The administration has taken a very wrong turn in the ways of running this school. Most students that I have come in contact with feel lousy about the way their being treated. As a parent (who works closely with the school), I see my child as being overly disciplined to the point she feels nervous to learn, in fear she may be called down to a office, during her class period, and get talked down to over topics that make no sense of a reason to be taken away from her learning. I have talked to many other parents who have the same exact stories regarding their children. Tuition is too high for me to pay, only for my children to be called down out of their class time and berated about irrevelant topics. The discipline system needs to work out their flaws. Also, many different systems around the school have been changed to the point where it is unneeded and only showing negative results. If you choose to send your child here i wish you the best of luck.

This year the school when through 3 Principals! The inmates are running the prison. The behavior of the admin staff leaves the students shocked. Additionally, there is never homework assigned. The academic standards are low! These kids leave without the basic skills to enter college. Do NOT waste your money.

My daughter transferred in and met some down-to-earth, amazing kids that she went on to college with! - such a nice family atmosphere - and a good experience. Priceless. (...and of course she was prepared for college) Thanks O'Hara

All 3 of my children got into top universities (VU, PSU, Pitt, Fordham, etc), Really because Cardinal Ohara infused them with a superior education or because you have the money to keep your child there as if these colleges don't know. My son was on the track team and ran at states with Corey Brown. He was offered scholarships by very few colleges in comparison to some of the wealthier students he ran with and he was faster. Good grades, respectful, hard working but poor. Grow up. You think your kids loved it but what do they think. My son hated it.

We have recently had one son graduate from O'Hara and another son who is a current student there. O'Hara has offered a quality, faith-based education for our sons, in a family atmosphere. Thanks to the educational and athletic opportunities that our oldest son received at O'Hara, he earned a full athletic scholarship to a Division I university. O'Hara has some of the best athletic facilities among the Catholic League and area public schools, including a multi-purpose stadium with lights, an all-weather track and state-of-the-art gymnasium. Coaches at O'Hara are among the best at promoting their student athletes and assisting them so that they can continue competing at top colleges, many with full or partial scholarships. Most important, though, our sons have been motivated and challenged in the classroom, on the athletic fields, in extra-curricular activities, and spiritually. The Gospel values and giving back in service to others are at the heart of an O'Hara education. We thank O'Hara for instilling the pride, excellence and tradition that is O'Hara in our sons. We are excited for the new dynamic leadership team at O'Hara and know that the best is yet to come for COHS!

Cardinal O'Hara High School has been a wonderful school for our three children. Our oldest was involved both academically and athletically and received a truly strong academic foundation for College filled with a faith filled curriculum. She has graduated from one of the best Universities and obtained a job as a teacher upon graduation. Our second has also graduated and not only excelled academically but received a full ride to a prestigious University and was challenged every step of the way. Her teachers and coaches encouraged her to be the very best in everything she did at O'Hara. Our third child is currently at O'Hara and is involved in 4 different activities, including a varsity sport. He has grown academically and spiritually into a man for others and is inspired by the School's chaplain and teachers. O'Hara is truly a unique and special school, which our children will always be proud to call their home.

As my youngest child recently graduated from O'Hara, I have to thank the staff, faculty & fellow students for the best High School experience a young person could ask for. My son was encouraged academically, athletically, & most importantly spiritually! All my kids were able to maintain great GPAs & participate in wonderful activities that fostered them to become appreciative, competent & productive young adults. All 3 of my children got into top universities (VU, PSU, Pitt, Fordham, etc), and I believe this is because of their honors curriculum, activities & the leadership opportunities they were afforded at O'Hara. My son had teachers that not only cared about him as a person, but taught him to love learning and to strive for the best! I am hopeful the new leaders will continue this tradition of pride, & excellence that make me proud to be an O'Hara parent. The Cardinal O'Hara Campus will be known for years to come for it's superior sports stadium, fields, gym & theater; but most importantly for being Christ centered & the place my kids will call' "home" forever!
