I wouldn’t recommend you attending this school if you are African American the students come off as rude and racially discriminatory even the teachers say racial slurs my child has told me a lot of things about this school to the point he don’t even want to go back this school is not for black kids it’s all about their culture oh and if your child is in to sports they already be having their teams picked before try outs sounds crazy right the parents in the county have really good relationships with the coaches and teachers so most of the times the students will be grandfather in the regret I feel moving to Springfield school district and to top it off the middle school is worst! If you are white you will be ok but if you are black runnn! Don’t waste your time

Great faculty and after school programs to keep students involved and help prepare them for college.

Honestly. I think that Springfield who be an amazing school, if not for half of the students to do not care about anyone else but themselves. Me being a student who sees the acts of bullying going on straight in front of the teachers (who do not do anything about it) find it EXTREMELY offensive. The educational system can be great... at times. Some of the teachers are great with teaching, others... well its simply obvious that they don't want to be here.

To be honest since I started to going to the high school, there were things I liked and didn't like. First some of the good things about the school; there are a few good teachers, good athletic program, good special education staff, and fun clubs to join. The bad is the current condition, size which explains the total enrollment in the high school alone, 2nd is the attitude of a lot of the students, In some of my classes there were quite a few who didn't care, about working, and slept in class making jokes, or being on the computer, and it would go unoticed until the teacher would find out, 3rd is the lack of security in the school, and 4th is that my bus is usually late arriving to the school and the administration marks me unexcused or tardy even though it was never my fault that This is what I've experienced in the school. How could the school be better would be build a new high school, or renovate the entire school, 2nd improve the school's student chemistry into becoming a more respectful place to learn, 3rd better trained teachers

There are certainly way more cons to this school than goods. I can honestly say after being here for over two years, I have been nothing but dissatisfied. It is a joke for an education system. There is an endless list of improvements this school can make. The school district is so small, and everyone is together for so long that is unbelievably cliquey. You will never fit in if you come in new, nor will you be warmly welcomed. The entire staff is almost as bad as the students. They all discuss students' private personal matters to each other, as well as openly complain in front of anyone. Not only as a student am I dissatisfied, but my parents are absolutely disgusted. At one point, my father has said he even feels guilty about having to send me there. If they could afford private school, they would send me in a second. Many teachers do not offer help or grade our papers because they are "busy", but they are quick to give a ridiculous amount of work. If you are considering sending your child there, do them a favor and don't. If you aren't really bad or great you are completely irrelevant to them. They only care about how they look and their funding. The district is sickening.

Besides the vigor of courses, this school lacks quality in every way possible. The student body lacks diversity, with a minority rate of only 7%. As a student, if you don't play a sport, good luck trying to fit in. Out of the 1,209 students who attend, only a fraction of them aren't drinking or doing drugs on the day to day basis. The administration is oblivious to the actions of any students who haven't been deemed "problem children" which means the same four students from each grade get in trouble while everyone else can do as the please. The teachers do not abide by the student handbook and have adopted the dictatorial mindset that students are always wrong if they disagree. Teachers also discuss the private matters of students with other teachers. Guidance counselors are supposed to be available to assist students in any problems they might be having- socially, academically, etc., but somehow, they seem to hurt more than help. Bottom line, this school gets praise for having great academics and outstanding test scores but it is often overlooked that the people there are unhelpful, inconsiderate, and do not have the social skills needed to succeed in the real world.

I have only good things to say about the high school. My child was one of those students who drove the teachers and her parents crazy with her behavior. The principal and faculty were more than helpful and kind to make sure she was going in the right direction. Unfortuntely it is up to the student who is maturing and the parents to discipline their child. There is only so much the faculty and us parents can do. The high school does not tolerate bad behavior. It's totally up to the student to get good grades and if they want "PRAISE", then that comes from parents. Do not judge the high school, why not let your two sons visit, and see for themselves. I am tired of parents who complain like you, who sounds like u baby your "sons". If they need extra help the teachers are willing to help them before or after school. Don't judge a book by it's cover.
