If you live in Upper Darby DOTS is a reasonable choice. If you live in a good school district e.g. Haverford, Springfield, you will do a disservice to your child by sending them to DOTS. DOTS does its best, but can not keep good teachers due to low wages paid to teachers. Most teachers fall in two categories, 1) recent college graduates that will leave DOTS for a better paying job once they gain experience, 2) ineffective teachers that can not get a job elsewhere because they are ineffective educators. There are a few (very few) good teachers at DOTS. Also, a small group of kids together K-8 is s cesspool for drama. There are not enough students for all types of personalities to find a suitable friend group. This leads to a few "cool kids" dictating who to include and who gets kicked to the curb. Also, the school heavily depends on parent voulinteers. If you volunteer, you can pull strings. E.g. if you volunter to coach, you choose who is on the team and who gets playing time. This so often leads to a kid, and their friends, on the team, or in a play, or in a project group together because their parent is a volunteer. If you have a better choice, exercise that choice and stay far away.

My 2 children went to this school for 9 years and I was very satisfied with their experience. They loved going there and all the teachers were amazing even when my family was going through tough times. The old principle was amazing

My daughter is in her second year at St. Dorothy. We could't be happier. She loves it, is making great friends and learning faster than I imagined.

Our child currently attends St. Dots after her being there for 6 years we are completely unsatisfied. Teachers have been well below average. The principal is out of touch. Bullying is VERY prevalent. We thought the school would have gotten better but it has only gotten worse. It was a terrible mistake sending our child there.

Horrible school!!!! I would never ever enroll my child in this school again!! we had a very bad experience with 4th grade teacher. students are very unfriendly, don't welcome new students openly. Principal is doing horrible job! this school is using car parking space as playground. Whole structure needs to be changed!!!

The principal (Mrs. Sheehan) is awesome! She is very involved and runs the school well. The teachers are pretty good too. The school is very good at communicating with parents by way of memos, email, school newsletter, etc. The curriculum is very challenging. It is a great education for a very reasonable tuition.
