I think that kickapoo is a very good school. there may be problems once in a while. But I've had a lot of fun here. the teachers are kind and really try their best to help us learn and understand. I've met some of the nicest people as well. I also like how we have the same 4 classes everyday until the semester is over. it's not as stressful. If I was you, I would come to kickapoo and at least try it out. Really not as bad as people make it seem!! and I've made better grades so far. really helped me and ive been at this school for almost 2 months now! it may be different for y'all. But my freshman year has been so much fun so far!

This school is horrible. There are drugs everywhere and when you report it to the Administrators and School Police you are played out to be a nuisance. This school is more concerned about social justice than learning. The teachers are dismal at best and focus on left learning vs core curriculum. STAY AWAY!!!

1987 grad. Teachers were the best, the rigors of KICKAPOO made me strong and successful in my military career, early retirement. I wouldn’t change a thing. Looks like the school has had several additions since the 80s, always felt special being at KICKAPOO. Workshare /Work release was awesome yes I was Profolks first hiring gang down the Street from KICKAPOO. (Battlefield/Jefferson ) San Diego is where I made it big after Springfield, now it’s time to come back to the Midwest! And enjoy. If you can make it at KICKAPOO you can make it anywhere!Remember alumni is always watching! Hey Decker you never caught me LOL#CamaroChris

I graduated from Kickapoo in 1999; after reading these reviews, it sounds like the exact same school after 20 years. That's really sad and disappointing that the staff/administration can't figure out how to improve over that time span.

The school overall is pretty good, however, a lot of the students are pretty unwelcoming and kind of mean. Of course, there are some good kids too. One thing that really makes me dislike this school is the huge drug problem. I am aware that pretty much all schools have drug problems, but Kickapoo’s seems a lot worse than the others. Another thing that makes me dislike this school is that the counselors constantly nag you about college and what you’re going to do with your life after high school. Which I can see where that is a good thing, but some of us really don’t know what we want to do and for the school to figure out our lives after high school is really stressful. Finally, if you’re more of an extroverted and sports person, then Kickapoo would be wonderful for you, but if you’re more of an introverted person I don’t recommend this school.

Every school has bad influences but as a freshmen in my first semester at Kickapoo high school I have discovered that they are far more than everyone says there are. A large portion of the student body curse like sailors at every opportunity and the teachers just sit there. If attending take all honors courses regardless of how hard it is to get into them because what I have found is that to get Physics First homework help I have Not been able to go to the teacher, but my friends in honors with Mr Hostetter have been very succesful due to the amount of help. NoNE of my teachers have been accommodating at all, I have a 504 due to my color blindness that has been blatantly ignored by several teachers. whom had been informed of it by me numerous times. Getting a schedule change had been impossible, I requested for one 3 weeks ago and have yet to hear back. This school sucks stay away

Bad teachers, kids, drugs, rules, college prep, etc.--I will definitely not put my boys through this prison of a school I had to endure for 4 years.

Kickapoo is great i feel as if i am really going to be prepared for college. Kickapoo teachers are pretty great and really caring for the kids, any time i have a problem with something i have only ever had 2 teachers tell me that they cant help me. The administrative is great and there is not a lot of violence in my 3 years here so far i have only ever heard of 2 fights breaking out and drugs every school has them you just got to stay away from them. Kickapoo offers a lot for their students but it is very sport based and i dont care for that to much. But if you are looking for a school that will challenge your student Kickapoo is the place to be

Overall I feel this school is very good. Most of the instructors my two daughters have had have been very good. The counselors on the other hand are worthless, and seem more like over-glorified secretaries than counselors. Trying to get a schedule change is like pulling teeth. We had to contact the Superintendent of schools to actually get one of our daughters classes changed, and the Governor of Missouri and complain to get our other daughters class changed....ridiculous! Student ratio to teachers is horrible with up to 35 students per 1 instructor. Kickapoo is very sports minded, and these students receive special treatment. All schools has problems with drugs, however Kickapoo doesn't have a huge problem. The school police officers are very nice, and accessible. They have a hotline to report anonymously. Overall your child will get a decent education, however those who are struggling already are going to have a hard time due to overcrowding!

Kickapoo is not very good about following IEP my child slipped through the cracks and her IEP was ignored by nearly all her teachers, when she started to fall behind, they acted like it was all my problem when I turned them in for not following the plan, and they were spoken to about it, they were very bothered by us, but just gave her grades to move her on. I have never been treated so rudely with administration as we have been here, in Florida and Oklahoma they were exceptionally accommodating, and we flourished, her last few years here made it next to impossible for her to transition in Community College..I blame the poor administration at Kickapoo..I fought for her weekly till she graduated I was very involved.
