I have unfortunately been at this school for over 10 years with 3 children. One of my daughters was bullied for many years there and I still worry about her social skills because it was not handled properly. The principal just always told me "I will take care of it" and then nothing was ever done to those children who were mentally abusing my child. They tore her artwork in the hallways, wrote bad things about her on the board and even defaced a picture of her that was hanging in the hall!! Again, nothing was ever done! I have volunteered many many hours and it is not appreciated at all, and if it is, it is not shown in any way that it is appreciated, Not even by telling me. I know not every person can like every other person, but I have tried my hardest and done as much as I could for that school and I feel super uncomfortable every time I walk through the doors of the school. I have emailed the principal and always get a general very vague response with anything g I ever have an issue with! I have been looking for a new house for 2 years to get out of this school!! I only have one more year there, but even one more year is ONE too many for me!! I will say that most of the teachers, the vice principal and the part time secretary are very nice people who do their best for the children and the parents. The PTA is not at all a pleasant experience either!

We enjoyed having all our kids go through Jeffries. The kids have loved all of their teachers in each grade that have gone through. The few times we have ever had an issue it was handled with quick resolution. The staff and teachers are very friendly and are always there to help with anything that comes up.

All of my three kids have gone to this school, overt the past 16 years. The staff is very educated, loving and protective of the students. My kids have loved their teachers. It is more like a community, with the parents and staff all looking out for each other's children. Communication between teachers and families is exceptional. The staff, PTA, and volunteers plan multiple events to keep the kids entertained and socially active. I am grateful to them all for all that they do to care for our children. Lifelong friendships between students and parents are made. I will be sad when my youngest leaves.

I love everything about this school. It is a very large school and is run well with great teams. I feel my child is safe, they teach personal responsibility and learning is engaging and personal. The PTA is very active to keep kids full of pride in their school, this also helps them make friends outside the classroom. I have had 3 kids go through this school, one more year left. I'm going to be sad to leave. This school is truly a fantastic school all the way around.

I have 3 kids in this school (K, 1st, and 3rd), and we have been a part of this fantastic school since 2011. All of my kids love this school and so do I! The teachers are amazing; I haven't had any problems or complaints about any of them. The principal is a wonderful woman who truly loves the kids and her job. I cant imagine a better place for my kids to learn and grow!

My oldest daughter is finishing up 5th grade, and my youngest is in 3rd. We have been a part of Jeffries since 2008. I'm a highly educated person and wouldn't hesitate to move my children if they weren't being educated properly. I can honestly say that we have had the BEST experience with teachers and staff at this school. Jeffries has a little bit of everything; black kids, white kids, rich kids, poor kids, you name it. The only complaint I could possibly offer is that it's a bit overcrowded, but SPS is building a new elementary in the area, and I suspect that will thin Jeffries out a bit. Also, this school was recently remodeled with a secure entrance and brand new gymnasium that doubles as a FEMA storm shelter. Coupled with a strong PTA, excellent principal, Watch Dog Dads, and tons of other volunteers, Jeffries is a truly great place. If you're deciding between homes and looking for the best education for your child, look no more.

I love Jeffries school so much!!!! Our oldest has been there for two years going on three. Our second child is about to go next year. We love being apart of this great school. Dr. Cooper, teacher, secretary, school nurse. I mean you name it. They all have such a heart for the kids. We almost bought a home but it took us outside this school district and we backed out because we love this school and teachers so much. We couldn't ask for a better school. Thank you so much to all Jeffries workings for making it such an amazing place to be at and for our children to have a safe environment to go to school everyday:)

This is a horrible school. The lack of communication about anything is appalling. We recently received news from the Jeffries staff that our daughter was given a flu vaccine without parent permission. After a 3 hr goose chase and many phone calls, we were told that our daughter must not have actually received the vaccine at the Jefferies health fair on 10/14/13 because they don't have a permission slip for her. When asked for the original permission slip that I specifically wrote Don't vaccinate on, it cannot be found at Jeffries school now. Now we are left wondering if the reason our child was sick for close to 2 weeks in Oct was because she received the vaccine at her doctor s office and then another dose days later at her school. We do not know for a 100% because one person says one thing and another says something different. None of them have documentation to prove the truth. After all of this, we cannot get her transferred to a new school, we are told we have to have a sit down with Dr. cooper, the principal.

My son is ASD and has been going to Jeffries for 3yrs now and I can't believe how much he's improved socially as well as academically. The staff really cares about the student's and they do everything they can to make sure the kids are getting the best education possible. I credit his teacher's for his love of learning!
