If you want a daycare for your child this is it. Not much academics, very little structure and low expectations. Sent my child for one year. I am a retired public teacher. Very disappointed with the behavior expectations and the small amount of "teaching" being done.

I could not be happier with the academic and spiritual school environment at SLS!

Excellent teacher and parent support of students. Integration of Christian values in school and sports activities. My children were ahead of the public school curriculum for their grade.

My husband and I are both teachers so we were excited but nervous for our kiddo to start preschool. We wanted somewhere with small class sizes where our son would be encouraged to develop spiritually as well as academically and socially. I can not even explain how much I love this school. Our son attends preschool 2 and a half days a week and we have been blown away by all that he has learned. He has learned so much academically but has also started to develop a real love for learning. They take many field trips which is wonderful and also offer plenty of times for parents to be involved. His teacher posts pictures almost daily of their activities and the parent communication could not be better! Our daughter will be starting preschool there next year and we are so thankful that we found this school. It is such a blessing to our family!

Our oldest child has attended SLS for 4 years and our daughter is in her first year of preschool. We love that our kids are in a positive learing environment everyday and that they are not just a "number", they are a person who matters! Our kids are excited about learing and are excited to go to school each day. We love that God is at the heart of SLS and is a part of our children's school day! We can't imgaine being anywhere else but SLS!

My son attends the preschool and loves it! The staff and teachers are very helpful, easy to talk to, and fantastic at their jobs! I never have to worry about my son. The teachers are very informative and always fill you in, as the parent, on your child's progress. My son also has a peanut allergy and Springfield Lutheran is very accommodating and careful. I recommend this school to anyone and everyone! Best school in Springfield!

My children have done so well at SLS! They thrive in the family atmosphere, Biblical teaching and exposure to a variety of learning experiences. So, so glad we made the switch from public. I would never go back.

Springfield Lutheran provides a unique educational opportunity for your child. We serve students from 3 years old through 8th grade. Students of all religious backgrounds are welcome. We daily share and grow in our faith. We are a small school where your child, and your family, are important to us. At SLS, we love kids, we love God, and we love learning! Come check us out!

I have two children at SLS and they love it! It is a wonderful school where they learn about Jesus while maintaining high academic standards. My kids encounter things that at any school, public or private, might have to deal with, but at SLS all situations are handled according with a Christian perspective. I am so grateful for a school that reinforces what we teach our kids at home.

Great fine arts & athletics programs! Parent involvement & classroom technology are excellent. Academics @ SLS is average or below. I compared SLS with public school, & by 8th gr, SLS is behind public school in math. I was disappointed with the reading curriculum. My child never read to the teacher ("reading" was listening to a tape of a woman reading the story TO the class). Teachers should form appropriate reading groups in a class! I found 2-3 teachers to be a bit "snooty." One teacher made me move my car because I was in their "spot." (Teachers don't have designated "spots" though) The environment is lacking. I expected my child to be in a place where bullying wasn't allowed & structure the norm. My experience was disappointing. There are kids at SLS that should have been (according to the school handbook) in detention or suspended for continuous disrespect & defiance. Neither happened. This interrupted my child's education. I know 3 families that left for this reason. The principal is fun. Perhaps too fun & not enough of discipline. He ignores problems. I believe this is because it is hard to discipline kids when you go to church with their parents. Call it "politics"

End the search for the best school in Springifled, because here it is. Tucked in a super residential neighborhood, SLS is THE place to be. The early childhood program is hands down the best in the area and has the most qualified teachers, even some who won national awards for their teaching and knowledge. Older students enjoy a challenging academic program as well as a great sports and fine arts program. They met with my family for a personal tour and immediately built a relationship with us. SLS is the best!
