A few staff members are really mean and kind of discourage me. I feel like my best somehow just isn't enough, even though I'm on honor roll. Also, declamation makes me want to die. I memorized my whole poem, but somehow just couldn't recite it today. Why is it such a big grade? Some teachers actually seem sexist. Girls get away with talking in line, but when a boy talks, the whole boys line is held back, making us late for class and having to get late passes. Today, I got so upset and really wanted to come home since I couldn't remember my poem or stop crying, but I was not allowed to even call my mom. My friends and I have made several complaints about kids stealing our phones at a dance. They said they would take care of it, but did nothing. Overall, this year has given me mild depression, though I am on the honor roll. This is not a 1 star because some teachers are pretty nice, like Mr. Smith and such, and there are a good amount of after school activities and clubs. If I could give a 2.5, I would.

Knox Trail is a great school. I'm not a drug user, and my daughter is in David Prouty. She is fifth in her class with a grade point average of 97.2 She has gone through all of the school in Spencer and started younger than most. I disagree will the false statement that Spencer parents are drug users. My child is extremely educated. Parents being bullies and there children are going to follow. Monkey see Monkey do. Lisa

I disagree with the post on June 4. Knox Trail has some wonderful teachers. There are a few who maybe aren't the best or "old school". Every school has 1 or 2 of them. I know they were in every school I ever went to (which were a bunch growing up in the Military). The Teachers and the administration in Spencer are trying to educate our children to the best of their abilities. They are succeeding in just that. The school district is working through some financial issues and will hopefully come out of it with the best education of the children being provided. There are school districts throughout our nation having financial difficulties right now. We are not alone. My son attended Knox and they were great. I am offended by the statement of Drug addicted Parents. You make it sound like Spencer is made up of Drug users, which is completely inaccurate. I am not a Drug user and I live in Spencer. Just because a child is struggling doesn't mean the parents are poor, druggies or losers. The child maybe just needs some additional help, which our teachers provide. You will find this to be true everywhere also. - Dawn

Knox Trail is, unfortunately, a pretty poor school. With the exception of a few, the teachers treat the kids like dirt and blame them for low MCAS scores. I've personally heard teachers berate kids in front of them and behind their backs. The testing results show what a horrible education these kids are getting. In fact, Spencer is regionalized with East Brookfield. East Brookfield is currently trying to deregionalize from Spencer and join with another district. It's really sad for these kids, many who have drug addicted parents and learning issues. The state needs to take this school system over.
