Small school atmosphere: teachers know their students and support an academic, inclusive and caring atmosphere. School involvement is welcomed.

DPHS has improved a lot. Many people don't talk about the good things, but, they have worked on the building and gotten repairs. There are still things that need work, but it is doing better. The classes have improved in teaching. The only complaint I have is the budget cuts that were made to extracurricular activities. But they have been doing good with keeping what we do have alive and running well. The music department will always be loved and has been doing fantastically in the past few years. The bands have gotten small, unfortunately, but they are incredible performers. It makes me really sad that people don't give Prouty credit for the improvements it has made and instead trash talk it. This makes most prospective students go to Bay Path which falls behind in academics and extracurricular activities. People need to give Prouty a chance. We really need the support so we can continue to improve and get the money we need to do so. Prouty is full of good, promising, talented people that should be supported by the community, not looked down upon.

Teachers care a lot about the students and the choice of clubs and other extracurricular activities is astonishing.

David prouty high school is a terrible school that doesn't care about the students. They let bullying happen when they know about it and the principle lets freshman go smoke cigarettes

Prouty may not have the best building, but the academics are nothing to be ashamed of. Being a small school means everyone knows each other and you're not just another stranger to the faculty. Students receive full credentials and have many extracurricular programs to choose from. If you're a good student you can load up on enough AP courses to make having a part time job nearly impossible. I had no problem getting accepted to the honors programs of 6 colleges' nursing programs, not to mention never taking AP courses. The building really isn't in that rough of shape, but if the walls and lockers have to be flush and perfect in order for you to feel like your education is valuable, then go to Tantasqua or Quabbin. The school doesn't determine how far you go, it's the student. My chemistry teacher graduated second in his class from Harvard. Show me another public school that has such highly acclaimed faculty... Dear Parents, Compare nearby Tantasqua and Wachusett Regional to David Prouty. The activities, Sports, Programs, and Elective courses to choose from alone should make your decision. The mcas scores will also help. Nevermind the immature atmosphere among the students that the teachers encourage.. If you want your child to have choices and an opportunity to actually learn something and better themselves... choose anything over Prouty.
