Falero and Shmidt (7th grade science) are the worst teachers on planet. Jackson (math) is pretty bad too. Consider Lakeview or homeschool if you truley care about your kids.

Have had a wonderful experience at Orcutt Junior High. Overall, the staff is very responsive to parent involvment and truly interested in helping their students succeed. They have a high moral conduct and strict dress code which are enforced and helps keep the students focused on school as much as possible at this age. The PTSA is strong and has continued to help teachers and programs where budget cuts have had to been made. Students have a classroom set of books and also check out a set at the beginning of the year that stays at home so they do not need lockers and no need to lug books back and forth, I like that. PE locker rooms have lockers for their gym clothes and the teachers really make PE fun for the kids, of course they have to run the mile...but the rest of the time they really do make it fun! I have learned that even though your kids are in junior high now, they are not on their own, if you and your child communicate with teachers and administrators they are there to help them suceed and will do as much as they can. I have four more children to go through this school, I used to be worried now I am looking forward to it. LOVE ORCUTT SCHOOL DISTRICT!
