I've had kids at Pine Grove for 5+ years. The teachers have all been communicative and supportive. I've had multiple positive experiences with the principal and the PTA seems engages and well run.

The fact my child is stuck at this school honestly makes me sad. If your child struggles or needs help in any way you will not get it here and you can count on the teachers and staff pointing the finger and trying to make it seem like you are just a poor parent doing a poor job helping your own child. Teachers are supposed to build your child up not bring them down.

So far kinder was amazing and first was pretty good. I'm not happy that the class sizes are so large and they place your child on a first/second combo class without ever even asking your permission, nor warning you before the first day of school. I feel like my first grader missed out a bit on some first grader experiences being in with mostly second graders. However her teacher was outstanding and she enjoyed her year overall. The principle was not the friendliest so I'm excited to see who the new one will be this year. I'm praying for a wonderful year ahead as I will have a new kinder and a second grader.

As a parent, I hated this school for my child. I feel badly my child ever went here. Just about everything was negative about the experience.

Pine Grove is the perfect school if you want your child to be harassed and bullied by teachers. Wait until you meet the secretary Karen, she's a real "gem".

I was a student here and couldn't wait to leave here. All but one teacher was awful.

Luckily I only have one child required to attend this school. This is his final year, and I can't wait for it to end. I will have to see how Jr High goes, or else he will be either home schooled or charter for the remainder of his education. Second grade teacher presented as a clownish street walker, 4th grade male teacher was a bully, 6th grade "Pack" teachers are evil. Thankfully one is retiring 2016. If you are considering buying in the new housing development to get into the Orcutt school district rather than Santa Maria, save you money buy in SM and home school your child. Every day is a battle with this school, its teachers, and administrators. The only reason I still allow my child to attend this school is because my tax dollars will continue to support the pitiful state public school system, so if I'm paying for it, I may as well utilize it.

There seems to be infighting between the teachers and principal. Also the labeling that goes on by the principal at students and parents that don't fit her mold is horrendous. If you have a child with special needs I warn you not to bring them here as you will be ostracized and talked about within ear shot.

I only went to this school for one year of sixth grade and it was one of my best school experiences. This school has great teachers, friendly faculty, and an excellent education program. I wouldn't have gone anywhere else for my school year. This is the place for your child to make memories and have great experiences.
